Turns out the best thing someone can do for their MVP chances is beat the **** out of the eagles.

Pats get 3 extra days rest and they showed last week they aren't on cruise mode yet.

crappy weather* + no Pacheco = squeaky bum time for Kermit fans

Telling Josh that was a bad call is just LOL

They’ve gotten every call they’ve needed for years. This is reversion to the mean of bad refereeing.

Correct calls will often seem like riggage when you are used to having the refs in your back pocket for years.

All of this. It's seriously pathetic.

Yes it's a shame bc that play was so awesome but his anger should be directed at his teammate for being an idiot not the ref.Mahomes looks like a complete idiot in his rant.

And if memory serves didn't the Chiefs win the AFC championship after a ticky tack call for a 15 yard penalty that didn't effect anything on the play? I guess when you get every single call for years something correctly called against you seems terrible.

Truly pointless thought experiment of the day:

How good does browning need to do to make trading esiason a viable option?

I was thinking about browning too. He's an ERFA so bengals maintain his rights and can trade him. They might get serious compensation for him .

I don't think trading burrow is an option right now, but if browning keeps playing like a pro bowler over the last 4 weeks and carries them Into the playoffs, I think you at least have to entertain offers on Burrow.

3 first rd picks would be super tempting ? Imagine 3 1st rd picks, plus they can resign tee Higgins and everyone else because of brownings $700k contract.

WRs will usually put an arm out (forward to indicate "on the line", rearward to indicate "off the line) and the ref corrects them or let's them know they're good.

In this case, Toney was staring eight at the ball, which makes his lining up fully over the NZ even worse.

Colts are ahead of them only nominally, so I'd say the Bills are in decent shape. Also they plays Pittsburgh and Houston, so there's some cannibalism there. BUF is pretty close to win-and-in

Assuming browning doesn’t fall flat on his face I guess it depends on what you can get for burrow. If you can get 3 1s from the bears including (presumably) the #1 pick you have to snap call. They position themselves as the only afc contender (especially after what Miami will be forced to do) with massive cap flexibility and not being sunk to their qb. Assuming they don’t bungle the flexibility they inherit they could be easily the best team in the afc for the next 3 years

yeah I was looking at that ESPN Playoff Machine referenced earlier and that's probably correct. I think the worst thing for Buffalo if they win out would be the Broncos and/or Bengals also winning out.

But I still don't think they get past both Dallas and Miami. So I say they aren't getting in.

If the bills win 3 out of 4 they are 60-70% to get in (depends who the loss is to) according to NYT. And I actually think it's probably higher than that as a lot of teams at 7-6 (Pittsburgh, Indianapolis mainly) are worse than their actual record and are pretty much little to no threat, the computer algorithm doesn't pick up on that.

The bills major problem is that they hold no tiebreakers. I still think 10-6 I'd enough for them because there are 3 spots available. If it were a couple years back when only 6 teams get in then I'd agree they'd have to win out.

Yeah, I think 10-7 gets the Bills in. Steelers, Colts, Texans all trending poorly. Mind you all of these AFC wild card hopefuls outside of Bills have somewhat soft schedules. Lots still yet to play out.

There’s not a universe, real or fake, where trading Burrow is an actual option.

Browning is going to get 3M+ next year and the Bengals will have to pay him if they go 3-1 and squeak in or just miss the playoffs. 2023 is the year teams learned how much value that roster spot carries.

Teams with decent backups can at least tread water until QB1 returns. Then you have teams with guys like Trubiscuit as their QB2. They’re drawing dead when he plays.

I’ve certainly had a change of thought about that spot.

Let's not forget all of these teams also are playing each other at the some point. I think they are in at 10-7 since these teams can't all just win out. Hell, they can still win the division at 10-7. 3 very tough games for the Dolphins at the end of the year and Jets next week who could give them a fight.

Bills to win the AFC I think is a good bet. I already got in on Allen MVP which will absolutely be in play if they beat the Cowboys.

d-day was overwhelmingly stacked in the allies favor, it was an absolute foregone conclusion of victory - way more went wrong than was expected and it was still a resounding success, every single beach front taken and land consolidated to bring in port construction for the rest of the war machine before any reinforcing armies could arrive and they had far less casualties than expected, a number which is a fraction of what the public believes due to laughably incorrect portrayals of it in film - saving private ryan captured the mood, the fear, the danger, but it also portrayed it as a turkey shoot where over half the people died taking bunkers that were right on the beach - in reality the bunkers were about 2 kilometers inland and not directly facing the beach to protect themselves from naval bombardment and casualties for the allies (that includes wounded, sick, awol) was less than 5%

9/11 was new ground and a significantly more difficult task which had a very high risk of failure

also, nobody involved in the planning of d-day was out there storming the beach
