I'm sorry if it offended anyone/everyone. it was dark humour and not intended to be taken seriously

tbh, (unlike what I said...) as a non american it's mind boggling to me that what he said could offend anyone, let alone half his supporter base

Thread can’t be static for a day on that.

Dom can you please post some Jawsh stats.

would you rather have your QB flex in the weight room or spin dimes across the field?

and now that i have a better understanding about your frame of reference i can understand why you said what you said.
it wasn't about assassinating a particular individual for something they did, it was about the world's perception of the gun violence in the US that results in the death of hundreds, if not thousands, of people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
honestly, i can't blame you for having that point of view from the outside

Serious question and not a troll Dom moment.

If the Bills don't make it to the Super Bowl this year do you think that will affect this team's drive to get to the Super Bowl in subsequent years?

It has to be a little discouraging to be considered a SB contender for a few years and then never make it there. At some point do the players start to doubt themselves or lose some of the drive to get there? I.e., it feels like the window is closing?

See the Cowboys as a recent example.

I don't think it would affect their drive. It could affect their confidence, esp. against KC in playoffs if they keep losing to them. Window closing has more to do with age and salary cap, seems like a relatively young team, but I don't follow contracts.

tbh, I think the Cowboys probably were never rated as high as the Bills are now (apart from by ESPN etc etc)

I was trying to think of better parallels to teams that were very close/favourites for a few years but never quite made the jump

Packers are prolly closest over the past few years but they would probably see their window as being as open as the Bills.

maybe Saints might be closest the past 4/5 years? (Steelers Vikings too?) neither had the inbuilt optimism of a franchise QB at the beginning of his prime' but got close on a few occasions.

bottom line is that the Bills org and fans are gonna think that as long as Josh is healthy, they're gonna have a chance for the next decade and they might be right.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has settled all but four of the lawsuits filed against him, attorney Tony Buzbee said in a statement Tuesday.

Since March 16, 2021, 25 lawsuits have been filed against Watson, alleging sexual assault and other inappropriate behavior during massage sessions. Of those 25, one was dropped by the plaintiff when the judge ruled her petition had to be amended with her name. The other 20, Buzbee said, have been settled.

"We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements," Buzbee said in a statement. "Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed. The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won't comment further on the settlements or those cases."

Guess that’s why he needed that money guaranteed

Hope the settlements aren't being paid out in crypto like Trevor Lawrence's signing bonus

I had forgotten about that. For some reason that gives me a chuckle.

You all do know that Trevor is just like all the other athletes who claim that they get paid in crypto too, right?

They get paid in USD and some of it is then used to by crypto and they are allowed to sell it at anytime - probably even before the 100s of thousands of dollars they are paid to tell people that they get paid in crypto clears.

As long as the Bills have Josh Allen, their window is open. Whether they win it or not as the favorite remains to be seen.

The contracts for draft picks are pretty much decided by the NFL depending on when a player is drafted and they are denominated in dollars - which is probably why Lamar Jackson didn’t hire an agent before the draft.

Trevor got a $24M signing bonus. The jags didn’t go buy $24M worth of crypto to pay him. They paid him in dollars and then he signed a sponsorship deal with a crypto company where as part of his contract with them he had to convert the dollars to crypto. I don’t know if he sold it all immediately, if he waited a month to sell some of it or if he still has the whole amount still in crypto.

Other players have claimed that they get paid in crypto, but none to my knowledge actually do. No sports franchise in a league with a salary cap can afford to take the risk of paying a player in crypto - if they sign a contract to pay a player X number of BTC each year and the price goes way up then it could decimate their salary cap.
