Hate on SSL is over done imo.

He did achieve some score points and his pace was something that other teams had to adapt to and it limited their tactical systems thereby.

He squandered a lot of chances and that is what sticks in minds, but we have had bigger flops.

I was sick with envy after the SSL/Havertz window. Chelsea were basically killing it in every aspect with the transfers in and the world class academy prospects. There was just no way both weren’t going to kill it.

I guess they both have their CL trophies and Havertz has his goal and no one will ever be able to take that away.

Kind of an interesting lesson that teams need to be looking a bit deeper and thinking more when buying stars from abroad. IIRC, Werner didn’t get much of a chance next to another striker and honestly I’m not sure if Havertz ever really slots in where he’s actually at his best in this weird Tuchel team without either compromising his favorite formation or benching Sterling.

Chelsea's goal tally last season was not actually that bad relative to other season tallies.

We scored 7 more goals than 19/20
We scored 13 more goals than 18/19
+14 17/18

That is a wild stat as nobody really seems to score there

I think the perception is coloured by us creating a lot of chances but missing them.

So it looks like we are failing to score.

Where as last season I think is our 4th highest goal tally in the EPL.

Yeah, I'm still pretty high on Werner. He looked so good at RB that it's entirely possible it was just a bad fit between player and club at Chelsea.

Somewhat similar to Arse where we had 3 players with 10 goals last season and the rest dispersed. But we did score few goals so that is why the Chelsea one took me by surprise a bit. Especially considering in those season you lot had a few distinguished goalscorers.

Maybe you can get a few players that barca cannot register now?
