Well those pieces include an impregnable offensive line, some great receivers, talented running backs, a stout defense and a functional coaching staff for starters but that’s not asking for much.

Ah, no, actually, his career numbers are pretty much identical to all 3 of those guys. And they are all in that same #12-#20 bracket.

Also, saying "he's good enough to win with the right pieces around him" is an incredibly meaningless statement: Joe Flacco, Brad Johnson, Nick Foles, Eli Manning (twice) and Trent Dilfer all did exactly that, and they were all replacement-level talents at best.

The guy has averaged around 25 TDs and 12 INTs per season, for close to a decade. Sure, there was a time, like back in the 80s or early 90s, when numbers like that made you a pretty good QB (see Troy Aikman). That's not today's NFL. Numbers like that don't even get you into top-10 today.

Seahawks have a very legit great short yardage run defense or if it isn't great they've been super lucky and looked amazing in some key situations. They've saved at least 2 games because they could stuff the other team and prevent them from getting 1 yard which would have won the game. The rest of their defense seems bad for sure.
