Lots of things to make fun of Miami for but firing the OLine coach and replacing him with the guy that did Indys OLine last year doesn't seem to be one of them

OLine will suck anyways due to them pretty much ignoring the position in its entirety all offseason but this dude did well with Indy.

But both of those are player based - DeGuglielmo was the Miami o-line coach two years ago and it was atrocious, Indy got better because they actually spent draft capital on the position

Oh for sure. I'm not saying Miami will have a good OL due to that dude. I'm saying that he's clearly shown he can do well if there was talent so laughing at them for giving him the chance is silly.

Laugh at them for ignoring the position in its entirety all offseason and then drafting a DL first when it was pretty much the only position on the roster they had talent and depth at. Don't see why you'd laugh because they made a coaching change to someone that's coming off a good year though.

Dude has not earned that. He's been good but he plays in maybe the best system in the league ffs. Damn his ypr are ugly. I dunno, mans gotta get paid.

5 for 85 with 40 something garuntee d sounds about right but who cares about NFL contracts.

An 85% catch rate and 9.6 yards/target last season seems like an incredibly valuable receiver to me. Yes, his 11.2 ypr would be awful if he were more like other elite receivers and merely had a 60-65% catch rate but he doesn't. He catches everything thrown his way and somehow seems to get 80% of 50/50 balls, too.

Yeah he lead the league in catch % and was 11th in total targets. He works out of the slot a lot more than most top receivers, so he was in the bottom third of receivers in average targeted air yards, which means he was closer to the line of scrimmage when Brees threw to him.

He's also a 2nd round pick so the Saints couldn't exercise a 5th year option on him.

Also, just because he's an ideal receiver to extend the career for a Brees/Brady/Rivers type QB isn't a knock but instead more reason to pay the man.
