I guess that is why they issue jerseys with not only a number but the player's name on the back.

I'm a lot more skeptical of Cian than I used to be. No denying he does a lot of film study, but I'm not sure he often knows what he's seeing.

You guys definitely underrate Dak and Lamar but some of his ratings are absolutely hilarious.

It’s hard to unsee Lamar’s playoff performance against the Chargers.

A rookie QB with a ****ty receiving crew against a great defense, yeah, that's going to result in a bad performance a lot of the time.

Lynn - despite whatever faults he has - doesn't get enough credit for that one. Running 8 DBs out there is so out of left field and one of those things that gets him roasted if it doesn't work. Instead they dominate and people just blame the rookie QB.

That’s true. LAC gameplan was elite

Can confirm that as a Chiefs fan - I'd much prefer the Broncos kept Joseph and the Chargers fired Lynn in some fever dream.

Can’t group Lamar and Dak together as QBs. Totally different players in totally different quality groupings

IMO, Dak can be a better Alex Smith - will never be a top tier ‘great/elite’ but can be a a top half of the next tier type efficient passer who can also run well

Most similar comp for Lamar right now is Josh Allen among existing QBs but his upside is definitely Mike Vick. Electric runner and nightmare to defend against with big arm who can stretch the field but has accuracy issues on short and intermediate throws

I don't see any path for Jackson to develop as a real QB threat in the NFL. He's Vick-lite imo.

Agree on Dak.

I don't think we'll see the OMG GOAT fantasy game out of Lamar like Vick had but I think he'll end up a little better than Vick. Lamar's rookie year and Vick's first 16 game season as a starter stat wise are very close. (vick made the pro bowl that year, so that sounds like a real QB threat to me)

Vick's season was almost 20 years ago though, Vick's ANY/A was top 10 that season - this season it would have been bottom 10 (Vick was 5.93, Lamar's was 5.99). Vick was middle of the road DVOA, Lamar would have been bottom 10 if he qualified. Not saying he can't improve but not really fair to compare raw numbers from current season to one that long ago

Lamar is a better passer than almost anyone in the general public gives him credit for

Maybe and I’ll admit to not watching film or really studying beyond watching Redzone plus highlights and the live TV games he’s played and we’ll also caveat that stats aren’t everything and that players can and should improve but...he’s never once in a season (including high school) completed 60% of his passes

Counterpoint: the Chiefs defense looked pretty good against him.

Probably, but that still doesn't mean he's above average.

anyone else noticed that pff have changed their format and reduced what you can see for free with a player search?

I probably owe them $40 per year tbh given how great a resource it is and how many searches I've done but...it still sucks

Not ideal, but this is often the case for running QBs-- they just take off with the ball instead of throwing easy checkdowns. His yards/attempt numbers in college were high enough to make me think he's not deficient as a passer, and he showed enough good other things as a QB in college (pocket awareness, progressions, throwing a nice ball consistently) that I think he'll grow into a good enough passer for the NFL.

Yeah, I'd thought the Hill decision was a sign of a strategic re-direction for Rog to gtfo of being the police commissioner but...it appears he's just clicking buttons

Can't suspend a big playmaker on the league's most exciting offense...

...who can I pick on that won't crush fan interest but will still make me look tough?
