well habs game was fun at least. down 2-0, that 3rd line played great and habs up 3-2 after 2. That line...and Price looked good. And old Nate Thompson played well, 4th line center, wins faceoffs, in great shape this year, faster. 3rd period was all Canes. For the game, Canes scored all 3 goals on PP. (ok the 3rd was just after it expired). 5 on 5 and the 3 on 3, habs looked ok for the most part. Rookie D man was good.
The bad, everyone else did very little. Weber, Mete was bad, the first line. the second line. Couldn't get anything going. Sloppy. bad ice btw didnt help. But ok Tatar had a busted play PP goal, it counts. On the road, one point is more than fair, but some reasons to be encouraged, some reasons to be concerned about a small team with D-men that don't or cant body up in the house and give up rebounds, and cant gain control of the puck deep in the zone.
If Drouin can play like that, with KK dealing, and Armia! he was all over it, really good fit on paper and, at least last night, on the ice...but yeah it's for sure going to be a struggle all year.
It seemed like if the 2nd line and 3rd defensive pairing were out there, NYR was just waiting for that to happen, they would keep the play in the Jets end until they scored.
I love the rangers this year as a “random game I will watch” team
The Rangers are really interesting this year but there are two ways this season goes south in hurry: 1) Hank is at risk of being really bad, but they will still play him constantly because they don't want to be disrespectful and 2) They really only have one reliable center, which is not a recipe for success.

"I sense that our team is probably further ahead right now than it was at this time last year. It took us a while to really master what we were trying to do," shared Julien. "This year, we have a lot of guys coming back who have played a whole year that way, and I think the transition has been a lot smoother."
Pens rocking the JMFJ-EGudbranson 3rd pair! Its good news as Malkin's line is now supported by a 2nd pair that does not includes JMFJ. But, we can't make it easy for Geno so let's put Brandon Tanev on his line.
