So the Dutch FA is researching the attainability/possibility of a combined Dutch/Belgian league. 10 Dutch and 8 Belgian clubs, with plans/ambitions to become the "6th league of Europe". There were talks about it between some of the supposed involved clubs earlier in the year.

Actually I'll most likely go there again on Monday, recent scores of the respective teams (Glubb away team obviously) suggest it'll end 5-4.

It's a nice ground opposite of a prison and a gas station.

Dude, stop listening to Pep. He's a football manager who can only win when he has messi. A minority of catalans want independence, there's no legal mechanism for obtaining it, and the reasons for wanting it are the worst sort of supremacist nationalism and economic greed. It's a utopian protest led by the complacent upper middle class that can't handle the social change wrought by immigration from the rest of Spain and elsewhere and stimulated by the corrupt ciu, artur mas and the pujols, trying to distract attention from their thieving. I have no problem with catalan independence, but it is a two way street, and all the parties (meaning all of Spain) should have a voice in the decsision. No one seems to want to admit that if catalunya goes it has to take with it 1/5 or so of spain's debt, etc. Right now it's an autonomous community with a privileged fiscal regime and other special features not given to the rest. Only the most rancid nativist vision sees that as the basis for a society in the contemporarybera. I'd be happy to see Catalan independence, but after an organized, formal, and legal process, and with the conditions of the Cexit agreed upon in advance (look north to see the stupidity that ensues when they aren't).

In any case, it's good to see real madrid start to gel and it will be fun to see them beat barca this year. It' not like secession will help them win champions.

Lol at thinking I listen to Pep. They want an organised, formal and legal process and they are being denied it. That's the whole point.

There exists none, so one has to be proposed. It hasn't been. The president and parliament of Catalunya exceeded their legal authority by staging a farcical referendum authorized by no law and controlled by no one, and subsequently declaring independence unilaterally (self-determination is reciprocal - secession is like the rights of smokers - everyone whose life is altered by the decision should have some say) and continuining down these lines after a supreme court decision expressly prohibited them from doing so. They spent millions of euros of public money to knowingly and consciously violate the law and a supreme court order and they were properly found guilty of misuse of public funds and violation of authority, and it's a good outcome that such corrupt behavior is sanctioned by imprisonment. The charge of sedition is more tendentious, in part because the law is clearly a leftover from bygone times, in part because we are inured to politicians ignoring the law and the constitution and doing what they want irrespective of what both say, but the current situation, with Torra actively encouraging street violence and destabilizing the situation as much as possile unfortunately tends to confirm the worst suspicions of those who brought the charges. It doesn't help to have equally stupid Spanish nationalists like Vox and Ciudadanos agitating for the repression that has never yet ocurred. We have elections soon and everyone is looking for trouble as a way to get the vote out.

Good thing they propagandize in the English speaking world so Brexiteers and Trumpkins can sympathize with them. Pep just wants to be the manage of the first national side in the new utopia. He also deserves some of the public money that will suddenly abound when they get free of Spanish oppression and communist ideas like equitable redistribution of wealth and equal treatment of people irrespective of national origin or language.

Meanwhile, Madrid looks better and better. Fede and Rodrygo look to be the real deal. with Fede they don't need Pogba. Rodrygo isn't just scoring, he's making nice passes, getting back on defense, generally superbly positioned. And Hazard is starting to lose weight and can ocasssionaly sustain one of his attacks for 3 or 4 meters. At least we don't have to watch Isco anymore. The first two goals against an admittedly horrible Leganés were things of beauty - Kroos's in particular.
