I mean like, it's been ridiculous for a decade where guys who can't start in the West head East and are all-star starters (Millsap, Thomas) but it's just getting too ridiculous now. Just contract the LEastern conference.

The only 3 players in the East to ever have made an All-NBA first team:

Dwight Howard 11-12 (likely to head west)
D Wade 09-10 (he's now 37)
Joakim Noah 13-14 (is no longer expected to attend games)

fooking joke of a joke of a joke of a conference.
I feel you JTM, I really do. It's been twenty years since the East was better than the West.

I'm thinking the Lakers being dogs to get to the conference finals even with Kawhi (possible?) might be enough for Silver to lay the hammer down on this conference bull****. Screw the vote Adam, flex your nuts and make the league fair for your Lakers.

The West is actually less ahead of the East right now then recent years.

Boston, Philly, Toronto are good teams.

Didn't realize only the top 3 made it to the playoffs. You are out of your ****ing mind if you think this.

Lebron, Steph, KD, Kawhi, Harden, AD are imo the de-facto top 6 players.. How many of them play in the East?

Hell even the next tier of players is like 5 WC guys and 2 EC... The best player ITE isn't even a lock top 10 guy for ****'s sake.

JTM got me triggered.

Gotta admit: driving Kyrie out of town and leaving Gilbert with an expensive roster of old negatives is pretty good revenge.

Eh, Warriors and Rox are way ahead of everyone.

The East is less worse now with the emergence of Tor/Bos/Philly then in other seasons.

Also, teams like the Clippers and Memphis and Spurs used to be really amazing.

3-8 in the West just aren't spectacular like they used to be in previous seasons.

Boston, Philly and Toronto are in the race for 3rd, 4th, 5th best teams next year.

Lebron on the current Lakers is super meh.

The West used to have a ton of great teams, Durant/Cp3 has contracted that. Grizzles/Spurs got old.

According to ESPN trade machine thing. Getting Kawhi is almost impossible without stripping everything. They did it with SVP and they’d have to either do

1a Stretch Deng+give up Lonzo+Ingram+Hart+picks
1b renounce randle + “ “

2 convince them to take deng and lonzo+Ingram+kuzma+hart+picks for kawhi

Didn’t realise they were already -5m.

Wiggins has never played for a non-terrible coach. There's hidden value there imo.

The entire article is terrible, just terrible. I mean, it frames everything around a ****ing root canal. That's not a joke, it literally opens with a paragraph about a root canal and nearly closes with it as well. It says that Gavin Newsom and Maria Shriver played a part in LeBron's thinking, and that LeBron is now taking on staggering risks, like getting hit by a diss track from a 21-year old sidekick. Gimme a ****in break.

ETA: It's terrible, but if you want to read it for the lol's, here's the article referenced:

JTM & Dood have already given the correct responses to most of this nonsense, but I have to especially laugh at the bolded. I can't imagine anyone outside of Canada writing that with a straight face. Toronto would lose to every Western playoff team in a playoff series.

Did you guys (fidstar, patron) purposesfully switch west and east for some reason in your posts?

Top 8 ec won 56% of their games against the West last season.

Going forward embiid, Simmons, Tatum, kyrie, Giannis, Gordon, dips likely have all nba equity the next few seasons. Giannis has first team equity and likely embiid will eventually as well since center isn’t the deepest position (matters what you think AD is).

Last year was a weak year for the EC especially the playoffs due to injuries. I don’t think you could make the same argument that the 3rd or 4th best team in the West is going to bear every team in the east the last 4 years especially if everyone is healthy. Cavs with healthy kyrie and love were a pretty sick team and better than most non KD warriors teams.

Cavs win what 20 games next season? They should try to, they owe atl their picks protected the next two seasons outside the top 10 and then totally in 3 years. Or maybe they should try to pay it off this year and then goto the total suck.

I’m totally fine with removing the conferences especially for the playoffs. Warriors still going to win it most of the time.

If you honestly think the East>West I don't know what to say.

All the good players are out West.

NO would have beaten every team in the East last year.

GSW and Houston not only beat every team in the East, they sweep them.

If you take injury out of the equation SA (with Leonard) beat every team other than Boston.

I actually think OKC and Utah beat pretty much every team. Even Minny beat every team outside the Top 4 in the East.

It's heavily weighted to the West.

Crazy to think otherwise.

I don't even know what to say about the 56% thing. Of course playoff teams will have a winning record against a whole conference (that includes 6? tanking teams).

That’s not what you wrote. I didn’t say all the good ones are there, you’re dense. I think the top of the east is getting a lot better.

Someone on your side wrote the West top 8 is 61% against the east so I just wanted the counter stat. I think the West is better, I also think the top of the east other than cleveland is getting stronger. I still think Houston and gsw are the elite teams in the league. I don’t think the Celtics and sixers are the 9th and 10th.
