It's 2 great players and Randle isn't bad, KCP is a pretty typical role player of the sort Lebron has always had around him, but Ball legitimately sucked last year.

They can presumably fill out with some vets on minimum deals, but like, Jameer Nelson and Maurice Speights and **** are't exactly moving the needle. Lance Stephenson is a bad player.

The Cavs at least had shooters. Lebron hasn't had to play without significant floor spacing for a decade, the game has changed since then, I'm not sure we can say for sure he'll continue to be LEBRON JAMES without typical supporting cast of 4-6 high 30s low 40s% 3pt guys.

Why do all the future projections like lonzo so much? Was his rpm that good last season?

Then yikes that's even thinner. It's real tough to see how this doesn't end up being the worst Lebron team since like 2007.
I think you're underrating how great a healthy Kawhi is, plus Lonzo has the potential to be a great fit with Lebron/Kawhi. (All that is assuming the Lakers are able to get Kawhi of course)

Lonzo was 3rd in DRPM last year.

That’s pretty crazy as a rookie.

I ragged on him pretty hard for his atrocious shooting last year, but I think the answer is everything except his shooting. (And that can obv improve as he gets more experience)

Spurs any less likely to ship Kawhi to Lakers now that LeBron’s there?

Not sure really. Ingram/Kuz/picks is a pretty strong haul.

I mean, are they really gonna lose him for nothing or ship him to a team with a worse offer?

You mean for pgs? Cause he was 31st in the league overall. The guys above him at pg were Tyus Jones and demonte Murray.

If lonzo can’t shoot it’s going to be a huge issue for lebron and kawhi if he comes.

LONZO is going to be an absolute stud and thats with no improvement in his shooting; as his shooting improves his ceiling will just keep rising

The Lakers are capped out right now. They had cap space for a little over one max, Lebron and KCP eat all of it, Lance goes into the room exception, McGee will wait to sign until they are over the cap. They can make more by renouncing Randle and stretching Deng, but not a lot.

Its mind boggling. They could do so much. Take bad money back in trade, over pay a decent player, swing a trade with their 5 expiring deals.

Instead they get Mcbuckets, who can't crack a line up to save his life.

Just incredible how badly Pritchard has shot the bed. Indy is a solid 3rd-5th behind BOS and PHI and their strategy so far has been to do **** all. ****ing Lebron is gone you stillborn. This is the day we've waited for for 8 years. Try anything

Please, please be trading for Kawhi, it makes sense signing a couple of decent minimum guys because a trade for Kawhi will probably hurt their depth.

Boston/Philly slappies (TOR too). Just because we say the East sucks doesn't mean your teams do. The projected 4th seed ITE wouldn't have made the 9th seed in the West this year, and the West dealt with a shedload of injuries.. Mediocrity ITW is rewarded with lottery picks, mediocrity in the East is rewarded with playoff appearances... and we wonder why the gap keeps widening.

Lakers don't have much incentive to get rid of him right now. Will be easier to deal next summer when he only has 1 left on his deal rather than 2 and more teams have cap room.

And if that doesn't work they can stretch provision him.

Lebron 35.5, Deng 18, KCP 12, Ball 7.5, Ingram 6, 4 young guys sum to like 7. That's ~86, Randle's hold which they won't want to renounce is 12, they are capped. Keep in mind they'll need some space to trade for Leonard, he makes $20M and Kuzma and Ingram only combine to like 7.5

East dealt with a ton of injuries too.

Boston had kyrie and GH go down.

Philly had fultz and embiid with mask.

Knicks had zingus.

Cavs had love get hurt and had to deal with ITs injury post trade.

There were other critical injuries as well.

East third seed had a better record than west 3rd, same thing with east 4th.

The West was very flat this year. West won the east vs west but the difference wasn’t ridiculous by any means.

East has two potential behemoths with sick assets and flexibility going forward. Lakers, Denver and Utah look well positioned going forward in the west especially if kawhi comes.

KCP can be dealt like mid-Dec right?

That's a possibility to bridge that gap.

God those Deng and Mozgov deals are so amazingly terrible in hindsight.

Lonzo should go if the Spurs want to have anything to do with him. His strengths seems redundant with LBJs.

I don't think it's just hindsight. Someone should pull the posts from when they signed those lol deals.

Everyone knew the mozgov deal was a ****ing joke along with delladova. I’m not sure why teams love taking scrubs from championships teams at premium pay. Don’t think anyone is doing that with warrior castoffs except Barnes with deal the Mavs gave him.
