If you can’t handle him at his worst, you don’t deserve him at his best.

Lebron's staying. Even though LA is a better town, headquarters, and basketball situation and everything the Lakers have done in the last year has suggested they're making room for him and everything the Cavs have done in the last year has suggested #hegone, especially when the Cavs gifted the Lakers 20 mil in cap space and a 1st round pick to get 10 Larry Nance Jr mins per game.

Lebron just loves Cleveland more. It’s where he walked. It’s where he ran. It’s where he cried. It’s where he bled. It holds a special place in his heart.

So OKC is ready to pay $250million in luxury tax this upcomming season to be an 5-8th seed? It's not even like they have cap space next summer after Melo contract is off the books, doesn't seem like the best situation.

They should let PG13 walk & trade Westbrook for Aaron Gordon + picks & do a soft rebuild. They would get cap relief, a good player in return & picks. The Magic haven't had a good p.g in forever & a glut of forwards & the owners aren't sure if they want to commit to a rebuild or not, it makes sense for both teams.

If PG comes back, they should embrace tax hell and trade Melo and his expiring contract for someone more useful like Nic Batum or Kevin Love.

I don't think the Lakers can do anything that gives LeBron anywhere near the ring equity that he would get next season by going back to Cleveland. I've always thought that might be the case because I felt all season that PG might stay in OKC, do I've considered a return to Cleveland a much bigger possibility than others. Love and JR for Kawhi and one of Gasol/Mills/Green?

You’re serious here? Cleveland equity barring any luckbox trade is basically 0. Have you seen their roster and contracts, it’s a mess.

Melo still has a no trade clause, he's not waiving it to go play in Cleveland without Lebron, OKC is stuck with that contract unless they agree to a buyout. Btw, how does buyouts work with regards to the cap & luxury tax implications? OKC salary would be $147mill next season if OKC offers PG13 the max, could they buy out Melo $27mill and not pay the luxury tax? If so, then maxing PG13 is fine as long as Melo agrees to a buyout.

Nobody wants Melos deal. They should just waive him if they don’t want him.

You could probably get a Batum for him. Or something like Melo for Crabbe and 1 of DRuss or Lin.

You just gotta be willing to take on more $. I'd do it if I were OKC.

Then maybe tell Crabbe to opt out this offseason and re-sign for like 5/60 to help with lux tax.

JLin on OKC would be pretty suite.

Have him be the 6th man and close out games alongside Russ!

Scissorhands also said that KD was staying 2 years ago. So not real sure that is as quality of a source as we are being led to believe.

Thunder are screwed even with PG. They will be way over the tax. Have no assets. Have no good young players. Will be stuck with a draft pick in the 20s for the forseeable future.

It is much smarter to blow it up now and wait out the Warriors/Rockets/Wherever Lebron goes window and restock the cupboards with assets and try and win in 5-6 years. But it's Presti and he hasn't done anything smart in about 7 years so I fully expect that it either going to be 1)PG resigns and its a repeat of last year for a while, 2)PG doesn't resign and its the Russ show as he declines and pretty close to the end of the franchise as he has let every asset either leave for nothing. Presti is legit one of the worst GMs in NBA history I have no idea how he still has a job.

Presti can’t blow things up because he’s gone if they do. He won’t get to wait to rebuild. Okc going to support the team if they’re rebuilding?

Either that or watch the tumbleweed blow by.

Presti needs to bink a David Robinson injury to RWB.

Right he should be fired and they should rebuild. Presti's ship has sailed the ownership and he just haven't realized it yet. Making zero good moves for 7 straight years should get you fired. Squandering the incredible situation he lucked into should get you fired. They literally had all of the non-Lebron MVPs over the last several years under team control and on the same roster and won nothing.

Yah, it was criminal when they let Steph go.

But yah, you're obviously spot on otherwise.

If I'm the OKC owners, I'd much prefer to run the triple double circus and print money than lose 100mil to get swept in round 2.

They can re-tool in a year with singler as an expiring and Me7o off the books.

It's made sense from the beginning for OKC, the lakers, and PG to all pretend that he's re-signing with them. I'll believe it when I see it.
