There's like 9 teams for 8 spots so the Lakers probably make the playoffs, but I have them at the worst odds of those 9 teams to make it.

Idiot laker fans were still arguing Kobe was the best player in the world in 2012. They are the dumbest fanbase in the league, and it's not really close.

Just remind the general public that Murray had a higher PPG last season.

I saw that the NBA preseason started but then I remembered back to the refs rigging the Western Conference series and I was sick to my stomach. I'm boycotting this entire season. Absolutely the worst and most corrupt league in sports and Adam Silver does nothing to help black lives matter or the movement.

Yes, the NFL and Roger Goodell clearly help black lives more. This is a thoughtful statement and I am very smert.

Silver doesn't want his players to risk injuring their knees on hardwood.

So sad the Wolves got blowed up. Lebron would be a dog to playoff

Went on a 3 day cycle trip and came back to find out Jimmy is still a Timberwolf? And now there's no buzz or rumors at all about trades for him? Le sigh...

Rumors are that Waiters is in Minnesota meeting with Thibs

What should Minnesota ask for? It seems like they want to include Dieng in exchange for a less bad contract and they want a starting-caliber wing, a young player, and a pick. Plus, they want to be below the luxury tax threshold after the trade.

They should be happy if they could get Whiteside, Richardson, Winslow, and a first from Miami. They should probably try to hold out for more if it is Whiteside, Waiters, and a first. Is there a plausible trade in between those two?

Maybe they should just pay Butler to stay at home until December, when more trades become possible, if they can't get a better offer. Yes, they should have traded him earlier, but maybe the current best offer isn't likely to get worse, so they might be better off taking their time.

Butler is better in a vacuum, but Middleton is a more valuable asset to MIL. Ez fold.

Pretty funny how Richardson and Middleton are overpays for jimmy when Lavine/Dunn/1st was considered an underpay. Guess 1 year of age and 1 less year of contract makes a big difference. That supermax is looming large, but I think it’ll be alright since he actually has very few mins of nba play and is a crazy worker

What? He has heaps of minutes doesn't he? He's played under Thibs basically his entire career.

And yes, obviously 1 less year of contract matters a lot. He should in the strictest sense be half as valuable as an asset, since you're only locking him in for half as long. Obviously in the real world this isn't quite how it works, because teams trading for him are hoping to get him re-sign, they aren't just trading for his current contract, but I def think people would do well to look at trades a bit more in just terms of the current contract they're getting/giving, because you can never know what will happen in FA. Especially with Supermax, any later contract may not even be that good
