I dunno, seems like he has to have some kind of injury. Service and groundstroke speeds are plummeting and he's shanking every ball that he has to run down.

Yeah that's what I thought. He's moving awkward as ****. It can't be all mental.

If he has an injury, then why not get treatment. And even if he has some sort of minor injury, players play through injuries all the time in other sports. I get that it sucks to be less than 100% in the final of a major, but what would we say if Tom Brady had a complete mental breakdown because he had a mild ankle sprain in the second quarter of the Super Bowl.

he might as well retire

from this match and tennis

He's losing points that are just his 100% by flying the ball out for no reason. Swinging like an amateur.

Federer will be gracious after the match, but only after he has stepped on Cilic's neck. He is more of a killer than he lets on.

I don't believe it's fair to compare a team sport to an individual sport such as tennis. You are all alone out there.

And guys I think I picked up on that right leg thing in a post above. That's where it is.

That said this is still a better effort than the women who lost the doubles final yesterday.

This could be the fastest Wimbledon final.

Won't surprise me if he's had a panic attack before going out. The doc and trainer were on so quickly like they were expecting to be needed

He's hitting his fastest serves.

For a GS winner, he's is showing one hell of a lack of WIM here.

This final is strangely appropriate for a Wimbledon that has been marred by injury and retirements. It's been a lousy tournament.

Rafas foot was a complete wreck, remember his toes/foot where bleeding in that Aussie open final.

These injuries things happen to everyone.

This could just be tactical.

fed has been around long enough to see a guy be completely finished and then come back. he isn't going to waste any opportunities in the time he has left at the top level.

i still don't understand how that happens. how can you win that many matches, then fail to hold even once in doubles?

He should have taken a timeout in 2nd set to break up momentum. Guy is getting smoked.

Urgh i would rather see a djokovic or nadal v fed final. They wouldn't breakdown like this. Terrible final so far. Fed by far GOAT after this win. Nadal needs to pick up his play and win some slams soon if he wants any say in all time GOAT. What fed is doing is insane. I honestly don't think we will ever see a player do so well at such an old age in the future. Mcenroe, Borg, etc all went downhill around early 30s, crazy that fed is playing so well at 35.
