1. Selling Chezzers for 10million.
2. Not wanting to bid more than 55 mill for Lemar and then bidding 92 for said player
3. Not wanting to sell Alexis to considering swap cash than maybe cash only then nah and prolly letting him go for free + keeping an arguably unmotivated player here
4. Loaning out Mustafi the last second and not getting a replacement. Chambers possibly Elneny at cb
5. Getting almost 40mill for Ox in the last year of his contract
6. Actually buying a player in Lacazette
7. Gibbs

bidding 92m and then butnahhh'ing when they accept = the most absurd

Better than what you have up front.

He's a big guy and looks like a target man type of striker. He does head a good ball, if you get the crosses in, but he's more mobile than you might think from his physique. Prepared to run the channels, etc. Better than what you've got, put it that way.

Don't know what sources are totally accurate of course, but supposedly Lemar rejected Arsenal trying to get to Liverpool but they wouldn't go above 75.

Meanwhile in spurs land, pretty decent window. Still very keen to hear who we missed out on. All the usual ITK types kept saying pacey wideman on the way for sure, then we signed a 32 year old who probably has a pace rating of about 45 on fifa.

RB and CB were must haves. Reliable backup to Kane was desirable. We were one AM away from an ideal window. Not bad at all.

I agree that Spurs crushed. It's a very Spursy window, nothing flashy (incoming), but very solid under-the-radar moves without spending much and keeping to their wage structure.

Spurs really might be the most well-managed team in the world. Most importantly is they somehow convince their players to stick around getting half of what they're worth.

We also missed Sancho very narrowly. I would have liked that a lot. And I forgot to even mention Foyth who hopefully can fill Toby or Verts boots in a couple of years.

Now our clearest need is someone that can do some of what Eriksen does for us. All of those types cost 50m+ these days because
Spoiler:
they ruined the game
.

I'm pretty sure we didn't make any actual bids above what we bid for Lacazette and the leaks that we bid £80m+ for Mbappe/Lemar were just leaks to show ambition to appease fans.

MW,

Largely agree. I probably give it a B grade overall, maybe B- if I'm being more alarmist about lack of width/creativity from time-to-time and need for another pacy Attacking Mid or Winger type.

We kept everyone we wanted to keep (important and for now....), sans Walker who was leaving long ago, got good prices on our outgoing, and didn't go too crazing spending. Might have even upgraded at RB and think the CB purchases are great long-term (although Foyth is so young who really knows) w Sanchez ready to go now.

That is probably harsh imo. It is a B+/A- imo. An AM who could compete for starts would have made it an A for sure. As I see it we got a crucial RB with quality, a 15 PL goal striker, a CB ready to break into the top class, and a longer term CB prospect. At a profit.

I agree with the other Spurs fans. Really solid window.

Upgraded several positions, made a £20m profit and dicked Chelsea on 3 deals. What's not to like?

The icing on the cake would have been a guy who can unlock defenses off the bench, but that's a minor quibble really as £30m for Demarai Gray-types is absurd. I'd rather give GKN a chance.

Perhaps the question Arsenal fans should be asking is: would handing Wenger £200m in cash really be worth it anyway?

I can just image Jack Sullivan this morning sitting at breakfast eating his Coco Pops, with the list of out of contract players in front of him and Championship Manager on his IPad to check them out.

Chelsea went for Aurier when Ox turned them down, only to find Levy had negotiated an exclusivity deal where PSG couldn't negotiate with anyone else.

Barkley then turned you down as he's reportedly "desperate" to play for Poch.

You've definitely done them a favour with that last one if it's even true.

Which it surely isn't because why would Poch want him? He's not good enough for Everton.

Ya stopping Chelsea from signing Barkley in order to potentially sign him yourself seems solidly in Levy WOAT territory

I'm sure Conte dreamt of signing Barkley as a 6th choice midfielder after having managed pirlo & co. Has he resigned yet?
