***News***

I've been hearing some rumors around UF that Patrick Johnson (DB - Pompano Beach, #3 recruit in the country) has decided to come to UF instead of UM.

Anyone have any more info about this?

It's kind of lol that you would name SEC West teams in that and completely ignore the East, which was so brutally tough. Talk about blinders, that's more than conference-specific in a conference that almost sent 11 to bowls.

I'm not really sure what you're saying. Are you calling me out for being SECWest biased? LOL. I think the East won the season series by 1 game over the West, so whoop-T-doo. I was just pointing out that the 3 teams they avoided were not patsies. As he said, I wasn't figuring the fact that Vandy also avoided playing itself, which made it's schedule tougher than the others.

Auburn officially hired Tony Franklin as OC. It's going to be strange to see Auburn with a spread offense, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. With a wide-open QB race and a completely overhauled offense, spring practice will be interesting.

In the last couple of weeks he has been a UF, UM, Southern Cal, LSU and UNC lock.. he named his final there as UF/UM/LSU but I think its 50/50 between Gators and Canes.

There's going to be a lot recruiting news coming soon for most teams, so keep me updated everyone from other teams. I'll do my best with Gator stuff because it related to a lot of other schools.

Please no plagiarizing insider articles like last year. I'm not sure about posting quotes, but I will try to avoid it since i pay for it myself.

Illinois just landed Fayson (2006 4* ATH) as a transfer from Florida

Patrick Nixon (3* ATH), out of the jacksonville area, recommitted to Illinois

the big battle is for Corey Liuget (4* DE) out of the Miami area, who recently said something about choosing Illinois over FSU and Miami because the Illini have a better shot at bigger bowls....lol

Other than Jacksonville, Zooker will stay out of the SEC territory on the whole
Jacksonville is due to close ties coach Dan Disch has

other SEC territory guys:
Fred Sykes--WR tampa 3*
AJ Jenkins--WR Jacksonville 3*
Donsay Hardeman--DB Milledgeville, GA 4*
expect Hardeman to be a badass starting safety next year

Fayson is pretty good. I'm a bit angry he left- he wanted to try some reps at QB (why?) but he can play like anything.

yeah... I don't get the whole QB thing

Illinois is pretty solid there for the next 4+ years with Juice, McGee, Charest

Fayson is a really good player and I am pretty angry he is gone.

He will do very well @ Illinois and I wish him the best

The general sense around campus @ UF right now is that "Fayson wants to be the Percy Harvin of a team" and cant do that at UF since they have this kid named Percy Harvin

Cutcliffe may get the Duke job. I hope so, since we play UT next year.

If Cutcliffe leaves and UT struggles again, Fulmer could be out the door (and Cutcliffe back in.)

AS, you going to the game?

and yeah, i think that Fayson wants to be the percy of UF. he did some nice things (direct snapping, WR, i think i've seen him take a return or two) but was never really as dynamic as he was billed (he was billed the next harvin but never turned out to be). oh well, at least we have Carl Moore coming in, he should be sweet (and thompson play next year).

Anyone know much about other SEC schools and their projected year next year? How about LSU? I'd love to hear some thoughts on them next season. AU and UTenn as well.

Auburn will be moving to the spread offense next year, so that will be our storyline moving into the season. We will have a wide-open QB race, and all the candidates are athletic, mobile types. If that position becomes a strength and we thrive in the spread, we will be a darkhorse candidate to win the SEC. If we struggle at QB, of course we'll be in big trouble. But we return a great team across the board, outside of QB. We play @ WVU on 9/6 so we will learn a lot early on.

yeah. Fayson boggles me even more

It's not like he is going to jump ahead of Benn at Illinois

I guess he is thinking Benn might be gone after next year

I don't like the Auburn switch to the spread, but it might work out

They've always seemed to do quite well with I-formation type backs... not the spread-read

I hear what you're saying about the RBs. We've always been known as a run first, defensive-oriented team. But for Tuberville to be willing to make that kind of shift in philosophy, he must feel strongly about it. I'll have to see exactly what version of the offense we use before forming an opinion.

A lot of people are sleeping on UGA imo. There's a lot of talk about UF obv, but there's no reason why they can't win again, that team is young this year just like UF.

No one is sleeping on UGA, see the the 2008 CF Top 5 thread. UGA's schedule is brutal though so I wouldn't put them #1 or #2 based on results.

Already talking next year? Haha. I'm cool with that I guess.

LSU: I see them as being pretty high variance. Their offense should be really good. Perrilloux has lots of potential, if only he can stay out of trouble. We are stacked at WR and RB, and the O line should be solid. Defensively we are going to have to reload. We might be short at LB, but we are hoping to land Arthur Brown (5*), who we are competing with USC in recruiting. Seems to be 50/50, but I might be wrong.

I think we will likely be favored to win the SEC West again next year. I would not be surprised if we are a top 10 team.

I'm really not trying to be a homer here. I think we will be good.

Good news for UK fans, FSU will have as many as 20 suspended players for the game. Looks like FSU may even get some sanctions for this. Looks like it could be some serious names in this one. Bet UK as well, gogooggo!

20?!?!? What the eff happened...

I like the matchup for UK anyway; with offensively ******ed FSU and our awful defense cancelling each other out. The FSU corners are going to have their work cut out for them.

I wonder if this will be the end of Bowden

I thought the matchup was great for FSU... no more

TalkingDonkey, apparently there were a bunch of players cheating on an online class somehow. Word is they'll also be suspended for the first 3 games of next season. It will be interesting to see how the ACC rigs the schedule so they can play as many patsies as possible in those first 3 games.

I'm trying to think of the equivalent of "Free Shoes University" that has something to do with massive cheating on a final
