We're an elite team until 65 games in when Pierce and Allen have logged a gagillion minutes. It's a marathon not a sprint.

MLS final. Sunday, high noon, at RFK stadium. (RFK? wtf?)

New England Revolution vs Houston Dynamo.

btw, revs are like the only boston team that i could ever root for. well, also maybe celtics this season. i don't really care for them, but i do think garnett and allen deserve a ring in their careers.

bump, so i gave him 100-1 odds and he has 10k for 100, Celtics odds just dipped below 4-1 to win it all, am i screwed on this bet, or are celtics not worth panicking yet? Hes asking for a buyout price already, what seems about right? I'll probably just go down with the ship tho.

buying out would be terrible, celtics are a good team, but the true odds of them winning the championship aren't even remotely close to 4-1

The reason you give doesn't even begin to provide an arguement for why buying out would be terrible.

What are the true odds for the Patriots and Celtics winning their championships? What do those odds tell us about what a neutral EV buyout price would be?

rivers seems to have been resting people a little more often lately. not seeing allen rushed back is a good thing, and it's great to see them beat a few people without him. if they can build a big lead and keep the stars' minutes down, the C's could have one of the freshest teams going into the playoffs, with a much easier path to the finals than any team coming out of the west. that could be a real equalizer.

Dynasty-

Pats 55/45
Celtics 20/80

Something like that?

pretty sure most people on here dont like hollinger but his formula has them at 67% to win the championship

I love Hollinger and think those predictors will look a lot nicer after 82 games rather than 22.

This guy has Boston as 92.4% favorites to win the championship if they make it there(72.4% finals, 67% champs), I'm not going to bother giving this a second look.

Someone mentioned comparisons with the 1980 Philly teams. If Boston does this, it will be the best single-city showing since 1980.

1980 Phillies win WS over KC
1980 Flyers (lose only 12 of 80 games all year) but lose in finals to NYI
1980 76ers - lose to lakers in NBA Finals
1980 Eagles - lose to Oakland in Superbowl XV

Ironically, the Phillies won but were weaker than the Flyers, 76ers, and Eagles that year. 76ers had 3rd best NBA record; Flyers had best record in NHL; Eagles were tied for 3rd best record in NFL. In MLB there were 5 teams with better records than the Phillies.

Wow the Hollinger playoff stuff is laughably bad.

He has the Pacers at 99.2% to make the playoffs, the same as the Mavs.

Obviously its way easier to make it the east, but the chance of implosion is much greater than 1% for the Pacers.

Of course but the Sox won the world series already and the Pats look much better than the cough 8:1 odds they were laid on by the haters by the start of the year. The Celtics again look a lot better than the 30+:1 odds as well.

Then you're even more of an idiot

The Jags have the best chance of beating the Pats, if you can't recognize this try watching some non-Boston sports from time to time
