I remember the incident. Pippen was selfish. Sat out the final play. I was in my forties.

mj didn't shoot 3's because he didn't have to. he could just go to the hole and had a better midrange game than lebron. but he was capable if he wanted to. and on the biggest stage. but, (shoulder shrug), whatever.

Pretty EZ to be called selfless when you're playing next to the gr8est player ever.

Kudos Pippen, you didn't go Marbury ... kudos
You make a good point. His selfishness came up countless times during their 6 championship seasons when he was asked to exert the most energy defensively of anyone on the team while also being the PG offensively, all while being overshadowed by Jordan when it came to notoriety.

It is hard to forget all those times he blew up and the Bulls were on the brink of disaster, but I somehow have because I can't recall any time when that happened.

except he couldn't, and even if you were right, you'd just prove he had a flaw in his shot selection. NBA coaches took some time to realize the potential in the 3pt shot, specially the corner 3, modern players have that advantage, along with a few others tactical improvements to the game.

I think I need to actually list the percentages for everyone to see it. Here's a ranking of all the players on both teams by 3-point percentage the year before the Olympics. Keep in mind though that the 2012 guys are all taking a lot more attempts from 3 though so they'll be taking worse looks on average:

(2012 guys in bold)

Stockton .407
Bird .406
Iguodala .394
Harden .390
Durant .387
Love .372
Paul .371

Mullin .366
LeBron .362
Drexler .337
D-Will .336
Melo .335

Magic .320
Westbrook .316
Bryant .303

Jordan .270
Barkley .234
Pippen .200
Malone .176
Ewing .167
Robinson .125
Chandler .000

So, other than Bird whose back is too bad to play decent minutes, Stockton and Mullin are the only players who are even above average shooters on the 2012 team. It really is a big difference. Guys like Jordan and Pippen shoot way worse from 3 than even the worst perimeter shooters on this team. And again, Bird and Stockton were taking less 3s than any of the perimeter players on the 2012 team too.

he should give himself a pat on the back, he didn't cause a hissy fit while playing in the GOAT team and winning every championship on sight, damn that guy was such a rock. And they even asked him to defend, how demeaning.

still yet beating barbosa, splitter, and varejao by 4 pts and 11 pts in 2006 and 2012 respectively.

the irony of scottie wanting the last shot so bad he turns into selfish mode, and lebron being so scared of it that he tanks the series and hides under his sheets.

Add Stockton, MJ, and Pip to the team for Spain and people wouldn't be worried the current team would lose?

It is pathetic we are even worried about a team because they have a frontcourt of Gasol, Gasol, and Ibaka. That is sad.

Nene, AV, and Splitter played very well against us tonight. It is pathetic.

Replace the frontcourt scrubs with D-Rob, Ewing, Barkley, and Malone and this game would have been a blowout in the 2nd quarter.

the point's been proven - 2012 team is better 1-on-1 players, but only sub-par at 5-on-5, hence their underachievement over and over again against much less talented teams than the dream team, who would obviously crush them.
