Does anyone have any recommendations for poker training software? Something that doesn't just advise you what to do, but why?

Just read super system 2, but I think many of the lessons would be easier to learn if a training software put you in a various situations and would let you know if you are making the right choices or not. I know there's a ton of videos and tutorials out, but I think an interactive trainer would be better.

I saw this one, anyone have any experience with it, has promising Amazon reviews: http://www.master******************/

Saw this one too: http://acepokersolutions.com/pokerdrills.html

SitNGo Wizard is considered to be the best, as far as the push/fold ICM play is concerned at high blinds in sit n go's.

ICM Trainer does the same sort of thing, but free, although I hear it's not quite as good possibly.

The above programs don't exactly tell you what move is best, other than in terms of equity if you fold, vs equity if you push all in.

I've also used Poker Academy a bit, which I believe has some advisor type of thing. I never paid attention to it, so I'm not sure if it's any good. The AI seems to be alright.

For books, I personally love Collin Moshman's "Sit N Go Strategy", and Arnold Syder's "The Tournament Formula".

For cash game play, I've got no clue :P

Trying ICM Trainer now, doesn't seem to offer advise as to why you would play something like this one: http://www.master******************/i...mple6-Mini.gif

Does sitngo wizard give you that type of advise?

No, not at all. It's more like ICM Trainer. That one you posted looks pretty cool.

What are you playing? Cash or SnG's?

Mainly SnG, but really I want to improve my home games more than internet games.

Ah I see. I'm not the greatest with home games, but if you ever want to talk about online poker or hands and you have Skype, feel free to add me. You can get the details by clicking my name.

What are you trying to learn, tournaments or cash games?

Ace Poker Drills as far as the pre-flop stuff gives feedback in most situations. It's also highly configurable.

The equity trainer can be used for cash or tournaments, but the pre-flop is really mainly for cash games.
