Novice question: I want to use some multitabling software and card mods, but it entails downloading .exe files. Does this compromise the security of my bankroll on my poker sites?

I ain't downloaded yet: thought I'd ask first. I'm considering one well known mod site, and a commercial hot key system for Stars.

But does it just come down to the reputation of the provider? If so, that's a worry to me.

Yes, it basically comes down to whether or not you trust the provider. Consider the value of the programs you are running vs. the risk of getting hacked and losing what you have online. Decide if it's worth it to you.

e-bay uses the buyer seller rating system - my sites have a wide open forum where anyone can post (as well as my involvement here)

the AHK scripts also have extensive threads, plus AHK scripts are open source, which means all of the functions can be read with any text editor - provided you understand what you're reading. For me, EXE files are the only way of effectively delivering mods without holding each person's hand through the installation process.

what scares me are all of the newbs out there with a few posts, peddling their mods to people - and i see people gobbling them up like candy - scares the **** outa me. i'm glad to see some people are still cautious.
