The error message A Boss Media poker client is already running on this computer! tends to appear if your Boss (=IPN) software was somehow unnaturally closed last time as you are now trying to reopen it. Or something like that.

Anyway, I've now started to get this message after a perfectly normal software closure and the thing is, the software ("poker.exe") can't be found in the task manager's list of processes, so all I can do is reboot the computer, because that's the only guaranteed fix I know.

Does anybody know how to kill the software's phantom existence without rebooting?

I'm using WinXP Home. The problem has most recently occurred while using a Boss table mod with a start batch.

Instead of the standard task manager, try to find/kill the thread with procexp - it has much more capabilities.

That's a neat and useful program, thanks. Installed and will use it. Didn't help on this problem, though.

Only reboot solved it for me, support suggested the same. Buggy sw.

Do you guys play on other poker networks at the same time? I've had this problem when trying to load up a Boss client whilst playing on other sites. I think it might be detecting iPoker or Ongame by mistake.

Yes Hood, I play multiple networks and my suspicions are similar, have not tested extensively yet. Do you play at Pacific network?

I think that the processes of pacific and Boss media have the same names, which leads to the annoying bug, but have not checked this yet..plus that would not be a solution

i think if you just load up boss first, then 888, you should be okay?

thats what i do
tbh this problem occurs to me only when I sleep/hibernate my pc, and then after i wake it up, i cant play and have to restart it.
