I don't advise using the ratings (icons) except in rare circumstances. Players get too hung up on playing what the icon represents as opposed to playing poker. IMO, just use a few common stats on your HUD and remember to only use them as a tool, not a certainty.
Rare circumstance: If you are having problems (or conversely, you LOVE to play ...) against a certain type of villain, tweak your stat rules to buttonhole that villain and notate the icon. Bland out the rest of the stats so everyone else shows as the eagle or whatever.
