Hello, Im a pretty skilled programmer and semi-new to poker.

Im thinking about making a software that checks for players being online and then SMS (text-messages) you about the player. But my Q is how the other applications like (Tabletracker) download the tablelist.

This will be a freeware.

Im thinking about starting with Bossmedia and Pokerstars.

If you dont know how its done, maybe you know someone who does?

Best regards, Rickard.

I think other table tracking software pretty much have automated software that keeps the lobbies open of various websites, and browses the lobbies for players sitting down. It would constantly scan the tables at the defined limits and get the player names by snooping the windows controls. Sounds like a nasty job, but you could actually whip up something pretty quick in AHK that does this. This is how I've always assumed the various poker player ranking sites do it (although they actually mine tables too, to get win/loss, vpip data - yours just needs to get player names), as well as the PT3 table scanner etc.

fwiw I wouldn't make this a freeware application. 1 you will have to pay a service provider for each SMS you send. 2 the people who will find this useful (high stakes players, especially HU players I would guess and nose-bleed players) would happily pay a for this i'm guessing, if it was fast and accurate. Free signup then cost per SMS seems like a fine deal, with a max per day, or unlimited for a monthly fee. You've got various options.

Also I would make this work for FT first as that's where most of the highstakes games go on. Then PS. My 2c

dunno how big the market is but i like the idea. i've heard various people in the past say people like durrr pay others to sit waiting for guy to turn up and phone him. how much truth there is in that i dont know

Any more work been done on this? I have an excel list of bad players and look for them manually. That's so inefficient! I'd like to have a buddy list and be notified by sound/text like suggested. Does PT3 or HEM do this now? Is there a 3rd party app that does this now? Ultimate Bet had the Ultimate Buddy app that would tell you when someone came online. That was great because you just put the fish in there. I no longer play on UB though. Does FT or PS have something yet?

try PlayerGPS, I think it's still operational and does alerts.
