Unfortunately I forgot to save the png so I'll have to redo them once again (hopefully with better quality) to create a new mask file. Aorn I'm using these with original mask files. While I'm at it I think I'm going to toy around with a below-table fluoroscopy effect instead of shadow.


Sry, I've got no clue about Photoshop, I'm doing it with Gimp which has some light effect filters that should be sufficent for my purposes. Have you tried searching for a tutorial vid on youtube?

I hate to ask such a simple question, but i'm trying to create my own deck. So I started by painting over deck/simple/3/cardbase.bmp file and it should look like pretty colorful and it just looks like this on size 3 table. So no colors and pretty bugged. Any idea why? One thing that isn't right is that, normally cardbase.bmp file's size is 61-64KB, but my file is bigger than that, 82KB. What do I need to do to get the file on normal size? Botweaver's decks for example are exactly the right size, so that must be the problem.



Btw Nielsbohr, your guide is awesome and well written, but it's still too complicated for me to understand untill I get some more simple stuff right. I'll get back on it if I learn those things .

So the additional files are the problem and this AHK file would automatically create them or?

What I use to do is, I open the original file with paint.net, add 2nd file as a new layer (per drag & drop), merge layers and save.

If you want to create a bmp file with other dimensions or transparency as the original, you have to create it as png (RGB mode, paint.net only does indexed png afaik so you'll need gimp or better) and then convert this file with png2bmp to *.bmp with colors and *.a.bmp with transparency layer.

Yes this was it. This helped a lot. That Paint.Net is an awesome program. I'm using it for the first time and I find it really easy to use. Not only that, but it put the deck's file size instantly on the correct size!



So this is what the cardbase looks like. I've done nothing to the font/icons so these are Pokerstars default fonts/icons for simple deck. I've only done the colors for cardbase now.

That leads to my question, now that I have made this cardbase file for size 3 folder, is there a quick way to copy them for all sizes or do I have to copy paste and stretch them (paint over)?

I upload two PNG files two or three pages ago. This files are the key; no exactly my files, but to have a PNG file with the correct sizes.

In the "simple/3" folder (as in all the simple folders, 0,1, 2...6) is needed to be:

cardbase.a.bmp
cardbase.bmp
cardrank.a.bmp
cardrank.bmp
cardsuit.a.bmp
cardsuit.bmp
deck.a.bmp
deck.bmp

The first 4 are the ones you have to edit. The last 4... you can pick from a free deck (some botweaver one, for example), put there... ok.

To generate cardbase* and cardrank* images, you can get muy PNG as an example to see (with GIMP or paint.net, or...) how they are.

And the AHK I put some posts ago, is able to generate that pair of files from a PNG. You need autohotkey in you machine, of course, to run that AHK script.

Editing directly BMP files is the first step, but to create something you have to deal with PNG images.

Yeah. Seems like I've only done the easy part now. Editing the number icons & symbols seems to be the hard part and for sure editing all those .a.bmp files will be tricky for me. I tried to do something with them yesterday and I often made the symbols/numbers completely disappear which wasn't my intention.

Thanks for the advice also G3KO and thanks for sharing those blue chips. I decided to give them a try and turns out I liked them A LOT. I find those rainbow colors in chips useless, unless for someone that was a casino player or something and the colors would need to be exactly like chips on live poker would look like.

What I plan to do (if i'm able to) is to use the cardbase.bmp that i linked with my previous screenshot posted on this thread and somehow get default deck's small numbers and symbols for simple deck, but i'm not sure how I'll do that yet. I'm thinking about screenshotting cards from pokerstars with the table maximized and take the small numbers and symbols from that. Anyone got better ideas of how to do that?

There's no one that has recreated default decks symbols & small numbers for simple deck yet or the default deck alltogether, right? Thinking if there's some free deck out there that would save me from the trouble.

could someone explain me how that we remove a card mod that we installed please? I tried google but couldnt find anything

start the client with the default icon (pokerstars update.exe) and this will restore the client to the defaults.

you will then have to re-install any other mods that you have.

it's best to keep a backup of the gx/chips&deck folder before installing any cards/chips and that way you can just restore the relevant folders that way.

Just wondering. Has anyone customized/changed skins for tournament lobby? I mean this lobby here (picture) that is with the tournament. Is it even possible to change it or extremely hard? I'm also thinking if someone has resized some key texts in it and possibly removed some texts and stuff like that.

My problem with the current tournament lobby is that it's too big. As you can see from this pic, I've put fully minimized tournament table next to fully minimized tournament lobby. My monitor, which is 22" can only have 3x3=9tables so you can only imagine how hard it is to find space for tournament lobbys for MTTs. I find it quite important to have them open all the time and not having to toggle, to time blinds and other reasons.
