Does anyone know if top players use pokertracker or like software? I find them cumbersome and limits my 'feel' for the game, so I never used them.

Yes, of course. Why do you think there are threads here for Poker Tracker and HoldEm Manager with 1,000's of replies?

You are stunting your own personal growth as a player, if you don't have one. How do you review your sessions? How do you replay your biggest winning/losing pots? How do you learn from your mistakes in earlier hands, so you don't do it tomorrow?

Oh, and a HUD is a nice benefit as well. It is not the only reason for having a HH Tracking app.

Usually, I rewind in my head thinking of key hands and situations that came over and over again. Also, I look at my money growth to see if I am playing well or not - skill beats luck over time.

I was just curious, maybe one day if I don't feel I am growing I'll look at it.

LOL. OK, sounds like you have a great Database system that lets you focus in on specific leaks.

/sarcasm

Seriously, you are reducing your own potential as a player, by not having it. You will learn more about your own game, and other's games, much faster.

That's why nearly every player who is serious about their game uses some kind of tracking program?

So you're calling the guys making well over $500k a year "hacks/cheats/noobs/fish/donks..."?

Good luck finding the leaks in your game. You'll need it.

is Poker Tracker the premier software here? Or what should one be using?

I play sng's, most of the best players don't use them...bigjoe, Jonathan Little & z32fanatic spring to mind.

I think they are over-rated & make you lazy, but i still use most of them.

i think it really works the problem is that you might see someone later and forget how he played but they have the age over you and can really defeat you with their superior knowledge with the prog man ive seen poker do background checks about players in live games every bit information is pure value my problem is how to categorize them you can see after a while who is weak etc but my prob is my brain works selective i want to study the whole table and my mind floats away and i automatically can only focus on 1 or 2 players on a 6 handed table sure if they are all extremly tight or aggressive you know it thats for sure but for example 2 or 3 seats you are right is sitting a guy you know the guy on your left is a stealer and the guy to your imidiate right is just weak not generally tight or loose just weak ut the guy 2or3 seats to your right you dont recall is he tight or weak you cant remember did he do only a few raises or did you forget something and the most important part is you raise someone right on your left thinks verry long and than fold like 5 or 10 hands later your raise 3bb again this time he thinks for the same time and than raises to 20 bb is he making a move, how can you know if its the irst time this session and its been pretty long since you played him with a prog you would know and you could make a juicy profit or save your bankroll
besides if you play at lower populated sites you could see if the room is sound or not
