Hi,

I am looking into buying some sofware and like the look of Poker Office, anyone out there in 2+2 land using this, if so any good?

If PO is not any good what would you suggest??

I am also using a new Lap Top with Windows Vista so are there any issues there?

Apologies in advance if this has been discussed, I did take a look but could not find PO mentioned.

Thanks Guys

I use pokeroffice and I can recommend it. But if you haven't purchased it yet just wait for PT3 or get Holdem Manager.

Poker Office does the job, is out there, simple to work with and stable, i switched to Poker Tracker quite a while back though because everyone else on here used it and some of the stat discussions were easier to apply if using the same software. If you can wait a month or two then Holdem Manager or Poker tracker 3 look good but you might find them a bit bleeding edge if you are not already familiar with this type of software and try to start using them now.

Thanks for the heads up,

I did get that impression, I have just been trawling through the thread re the release of the new Holdem Manager, I did skip a lot of pages but still found myself on page 351, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, I think I will kick off with PO as my first step and see where it takes me.

I love Poker Office! The hand replay is better than anything I've seen, the table overlay is great and all the stats are in there. I find it much more intuitive than tracker.

Lately it has been glitchy with full tilt but the forums will generally get you where you need to be.

OP,

depends on the client you want to use the tracker/HUD for. If it's Holdem Manager compatible, I'd def go for that over PO - waaaaaay better.

Yeah, I'd go for Hold Em Manager too. I've used both programs for at least 6 months and HM is the better program. There are quite a few things HM does better than PO, among the most important are:
  • Better HUD - the hud for HM can hold more stats, plus you get a pop-up with more in depth stats when you hover over the HUD. For example hovering over the steal stat will give you a pop-up with steal from cut-off, steal from button, fold to steal etc.
  • Faster - PO can take a long time to generate a report on even a medium sized database. HM does this very fast. Imports and exports of hand histories are so slow as to be unusable in PO.
  • More stats and filters - PO has no 3-bet and 4-bet stats and misses quite a few other stats as well. It also has very limited functionality to filter out certain situations. HM has filters for everything imaginable and it is done in a logical and user friendly manner.
  • In active development - Take a look at the change list on the PO forums. There have only been bug fixes for ages now. They never add new functionality or improve on what they already have. HM has new features added constantly.

This is not to say that PO is a worthless program. It certainly was much more user friendly and better looking program than Poker Tracker 2 was. But with HM out and Poker Tracker 3 on the horizon I wouldn't buy PO anymore. It's been surpassed.

Dont buy PO. I own it and had to switch for HM. PO has not introduced anything new in many years. I has taken them 3+ years to add simple 3bet stats but still no news. Plus PO is slow as hell compared to HM.
