Hi,
Pretty basic question, just wondering if the software from overcards.com is a legit and trusted site? I tried searching and read about people talking about it but there was not a lot mentioned other than what you could download there. Anyways just wanted to confirm it is a trusted site before I start downloading stuff on my comp.
Thanks

It is a legit and trusted site but that doesn't mean everything on it is surely legit.

You should have posted this in the Quick Questions & Answers Thread found at the top of the forum.

My bad, I'm new and I didn't see the sticky up there. Could you tell me if the buddy list application on the site is trusted? That's mainly what I am wondering about. I know it's pretty popular so I'm assuming it is? Thanks for the help.

Says it was wrote by runstop who is a 2+2 member, so I'm assuming it should be legit then? Here is a link to the page on overcards that has the download. http://overcards.com/wiki/moin.cgi/FullTiltBuddies

I am not sure what you mean by "legit".

the guys who put the stuff up there for free seem to be keen poker players with programming skills. There are many, many players who use the programs because they are referred to again and again in these forums.

I personally have used several programs for extended periods with no known problems.

many of the authors can be seen posting help and supporting these programs over extended periods of time; some programs stop working as poker sites change their software and the authors move on in life or lose interest. When that happens sometimes other guys pick up the software and amend it ; sometimes it does not happen.

The choice is yours, these are free programs put up there for our use by keen poker players who want to help.

If you choose not to trust them and decide not to use the free resource then that is your choiuce.

personally, I shall continue to use them and will be grateful for the time and effort these guys give on the communitie's behalf.

legit means not full of viruses and other bs that can mess up your comp/be able to gain access to your poker accounts.

the best thing to do would be to search for threads on the applications you are interested in.

if they have a decent thread, chances are no-one has gotten burnt by them.

if there is no history, i would proceed cautiously

most of the offerings are by hard working cusses trying to do a good job, but that doesn't mean a snake couldn't sneak into the mix

make sure you downloading original stuff, too - not copycats
