I want to not accidentally click on the cockpit button as well..maybe like setting a button combination where I can lock/unlock me ever clicking it. I even click off tables on accident sometimes so adding another thing to accidentally click is something I don't want to do.

If you need testers, PM me. I'm dying to try a new HUD.

BTW: do you know if it slows down your comp?

Some ancillary features will be missing (such as Notes and Hand History functionality)
Any reason you killed the notes? I really liked the way they worked in the version I tried I while back.

In PAHud, I did my layout with combined stats. And after that I also would enable vpip and pfr. After that I moved those stats to the bottom right corner of my screen. What this does is give me a quick overview of stats for the table and is good for table selection. It lets me take one quick glance to see the table stats instead of looking on each player one by one, I only have to look one place and can see very quickly what tables I like.
Yes, this can be done now. Disturbingly, as a poker player and user of every poker software program imaginable, why didn't I think of that?

Like I want to be able to lock the hud where clicking won't move stats, and lock the hud where I can't click on the preferences part or anything else. Only if I am bringing up extra stats for someone or something like that, but I want to lock everything and not be able to accidentally click the cockpit opening thing etc

Yes, as Fozzy says, the stats can be locked by using the Lock icon on the Quick Action Panel. Also, the Quick Action Panel and the Cockpit can be completely disabled -- which is what I think you want Schwallie. I expect most players ultimately to disable these once they have their layouts set the way they want them. The only problem with this is that right now, I had planned on having the hand history functionality embedded in the cockpit so I'm not exactly sure how I'll deal with the situation where someone want to disable the Cockpit but still see the hand histories. One solution will be to undock the Hand History tab. We'll figure something out.

Phil, I just am not happy with it. I've actually changed the Notes functionality 3 times and each time it gets worse . Notes functionality will be around the corner after the beta. I have the framework perfect, its just the UI elements that I am working to improve.

Keep at it until you get it the way you like....I think that one of the big potential differentiators for HUDs is going to be how well they deal with note taking...anything that can help get the notes taken quicker and retrieved better while multitabling is going to be important.

Not that the other stuff is unimportant, but the type and even format of statistics shown seems to be getting more and more standard. And while it's nice to have a lot of flexibility in how layouts, themes, etc. are maintained, that's a relatively infrequent task for players.

From some of the stuff I've seen, you will get this whole thing figured out, I'm sure!

Hey everyone.

I'm excited to annouce that PokerObserver HUD is now available for public beta testing.

Before you download it, however, please note a few things:

A Few Tips

PokerObserver HUD is pretty user-friendly and self-explanatory, especially for users with previous HUD experience. However, there are a few things you should be aware of before you start.

1. The Quick Action Panel is the starting place. Hit the down arrow to open the Cockpit, where you will control all the stat properties and other key functionality. You can move the Quick Action Panel by dragging the orange bar; if you right click the orange bar, you can save its location.

2. To line up the stats nicely, go to the Misc tab and use the snap-to-grid functionality.

3. Once you have your layout the way you want, you will need to save it. PokerObserver HUD is based on themes. You don't ever need to create a new theme, but you'll need to save changes to the current theme if you want to save your stat selections and locations for future sessions.

4. Among other key functionality, pay attention to the "Preface" property for each stat -- clear that to remove the letters from before the stat if you wish. Also, note the ability to copy seat locations to other seat locations.

5. Combo stats are particularly flexible, allowing you to use any "separator" you want, or add a space between the separators. Also, tooltips work by recognizing which stat you are hovering over.

Limitations

* This version works only for FTP Hold 'Em cash games using either Holdem Manager or PokerTracker 3. I have not tested it extensively on limit hold 'em games but they seem to work fine.

* Several "non-essential" features are disabled, such as notes functionality and hand history functionality

Whats Next

I plan on adding the following priority items very quickly:

* Stars and Party support (others to come soon)
* Hero session stats
* Notes functionality
* Hand history functionality
* Postion-oriented stats
* More HEM stats (and PT3 upon request)
* Tournament support

I will prioritize PEV support as soon as its released.

I also have some other ideas up my sleeve that I believe will take the HUD experience to another level. But I'm holding that under wraps for now.

Finally, one last thing: I have built this with flexibility in mind. While I believe I have a lot of good ideas, some of which you will see over time, I know I haven't thought of everything. So if you have any good ideas, share them -- the likelihood is that I can do it and probably will if its a good enough idea.

Please post any bugs or suggestions here or at my forums at http://www.pokerobserver.com

Enjoy.

I have to say, been using it the last few days and I am more than impressed. Amazing how intuitive everything becomes after using it for a bit. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Keep up the great work!

Stats relocate on resize. I had originally caused the stat sizes to resize as well, but changed that. I have since realized that the stats should probably resize, as well as being relocated.

In the spirit of keeping this as flexible as possible, I likely will add an option to have the stats resize, rather than just mandating behavior.

If you could blatantly steal NotesNL feature of visualizing what hands villain has showed down when opened from a certain position that would be good.

OK, so this opponent has shown 126 hands that he raised from EP and they are highlighted. What do the colors mean? What does the "100%-80%-61%" mean? What does the stack size comment mean?

thanks

Don't you think it'd be better to ask these questions in the actual NotesNL thread?
