I tried AHK HUD yesterday, and it's working fine, no lag.
I won't have a lot of time to test this in the near future, but thought you probably might want to know this much

I never really tried AHK HUD. I got something on the screen and decided not to bother customizing it. I only had one lock up. Both HUD observer and PT3 locked up. I just used task manager to close PT3 and restarted both programs.
However, the game lags in PS using HUD observer have happened since the beginning. Usually, I can work with them. I have tried it playing 1-3 tables. Usually lag is about the same regardless of number of PS tables open. Lock up occured with 2 tables, but I have run 3 with just a lag. I would estimate the lag at about 2-3 seconds, 5 at worst, after you click on an action.

This type of info is great. The interesting thing about this post is that the behavior mentioned is similar to the behavior I see playing on FTP with PAHUD, not with Stars (ie. the lag occurring after hitting a button).

One thing I'd like for you and anyone else experiencing a lag issue to try is to reduce the priority in the Task Manager (right click POH.exe in Task Manager and try setting the priority to BelowNormal or low). I'd be curious to know if this helps. I can't do it myself because I don't experience the lag issues. This is not a permanent solution, but would help me isolate the issue.

Thanks for everyone's patience on this. Performance is critical to me, so that is my number one priority.

Update 0.3.3 Posted

There was a major code flaw introduced in either 0.3.1 or 0.3.2 which has caused, I believe, most of the problems people were having. Essentially, the database query I was running was taking approximately 50-60 times as long as it should have. This problem should be fixed.

I've run a couple tests on my 1.5 million hand database and on first load, stats take about 1.5 hands to load. A tester who had 13 million hands took between 5-6 hands to load. So it should be MUCH better. It also gets faster after the first load.

Additionally, the problem with the Quick Action Panel disappearing hopefully is gone in this release.

There are several other known issues, most of which I won't mention here. But a few key ones you should know about are the following:

* If you use an alias, you will not receive hero stats if the player is aliased (ie not your main screenname in PT3). Also, hero session stats do not work correctly.

* Vista issues still exist from what I understand to some extent.

* Also, there is a lot more optimization I need to do to more fully solidify this, but it should be working now for most people pretty well.

I will have these issues fixed in the next release, but I wanted to get this out there because the prior version was very problematic.

Toast-

Good update!

I am now able to run my nearly 3 million hands thru Poker Observer w/o crashing. It takes about 5 hands to load on my clustered DB.

Looking forward to future performance increases, as I really like the interface.

This seems like a very stupid question, but I've searched this thread and didn't find anything so here goes...

Is there a way to edit the HUD stats/locations without actually having to sit at a table?

I emailed this to Poker Observer support, but I thought I'd post here.

After running Poker Observer and confirming my db settings, I get "There is a serious problem. Contact Support."

At Full Tilt, yes; at PokerStars, not yet. I have not implemented observed table support yet for PokerStars but that will come soon.

My suggeston, at Stars, if you don't want to be distracted, sit at a lower limit table of with the same number of seats you want to play at, configure the stats the way you want and be sure to save the theme (Basic) or create a new theme.

Are you by chance using Postgres version 8.1 or 8.0? If so, its a known bug that will be fixed hopefully in the next release. Alternatively, you can upgrade to PG 8.2 or 8.3, which may not be a bad idea anyway.

FWIW - I prefer Aggression Frequency over Aggression Factor. And HM Session Stats, LDO.

Does this work with SNG's, or do they fall under the planned tournament support?

I have pg 8.3 and am also getting "There is a serious problem. Contact Support."
I try to load it and I get
Your PostgreSQL settings have not been established.
Please set them below.

all the fields are filled in except the password Im not really sure what to do here. I hit test or save and I get Database cennection failed. Please insert valid information. Then when I close it I get the contact support message.
