Are you saying the process of upgrading is crashing or the actual IdleMiner is crashing?

We're trying to duplicate these problems but have been unable to do so th us far. Our win2k installation is working just fine, we'll keep working on it. Do you know if you have sp4?

Also do you think you can send your options.ini file to dev@idleminer.com so we can exactly duplicate the situation you're having?

Hey there!

Oddity: the auto upgrade to 1.36 worked fine on Win2K, but the current auto upgrade (assuming to 1.37?) is failing with the Windows error message.

i got this too.
I've yet to get IM to work..still just disapears when I click start.

I'm not sure what exactly you want me to get a copy of and email to u...you'll have to walk thru the process of how to find it given I'm windows ******ed--normally use a mac

Is this on windows 2000?

Also, check that you've added limits to be datamined if you do not when you click start it will do nothing.

In the middle list on the left if it is empty, no datamining will take place.

yes.
how much does windows xp cost?
maybe is should just go buy it and upgrade

nothing seems to work with [censored] windows 2000

Well its probably not worth upgrading your OS for one application, but less and less stuff will work with win2k as time goes on.

Do you know what service pack of windows you're running? You can find out by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties, it should list in the top right corner what SP you have.

Maybe try upgrading to SP4 if you're not already there:

yeh i have sp4...updated n everything

i wouldn't be so annoyed if i wasnt also having problems trying to get the hand histories from FPHG into my PT database.
08-31-2006 , 05:11 AM
wow - make a suggestion, and hours later, it's implemented. that's awesome.

however, with my suggestion to let people choose to table either speeds or regulars, it seems to have been implemented such that the user has a choice to exclude speeds. it would be good if there was also an option to exclude regulars (especially since that's what most high volume players play)

in addition, periodically i get messages on my pp client refusing to open more tables, but simply requiing i click on a dialog box saying that it can't open more tables. if idleminer could click that box, it'd be awesome.

finally, i was sorta frightened when i tried to start it when i was already playing some SNGs - it started trying to close my tourneys. that was unfortunate.

Love this software. Is there a way I can mine more than 12 tables? I have XP.
08-31-2006 , 10:39 AM
1.37 seems to only open four tables. I've checked, and I'm logged in, so it's not the "guest" limitation. What about adding a button to the display that forces IM to go out and rescan for available tables? Won't help if running as a screensaver, but could be quite useful ...

I would like to say that IdleMiner Rocks! It is ticking along perfectly on my system (Pentium 1.6GHz notebook with Win XP Pro). I'm datamining 12 SNG tables at work right now, and since IM is only using about 10% of my processor, I have plenty left to work with.

Plus, as a tourney closes, it zeroes right on on the next table to open it without delay - much faster than the AHK script of iWitness. This makes the momentary blip as the lobby screen pops up merely a minor annoyance, rather than a 10-30 second process which takes over my screen.

I'm still waiting for the catch (other than charging for it, of course!) - like transferring my Party funds to an account in the Caymans, or disabling the "A" key on my keyboard

Cheers, Carl.

Makonnen can you send us your log.txt file and your options.ini file so that we may see what is causing this problem? dev@idleminer.com

Does this work with Empire?

Yes

Hi, I've been trialling this now and it looks fantastic, but I have one question regarding the storing of hand histories that I can't find the answer to in the current thread.

If a table is closed down due to it dropping below a pre-set number of players, and then that table is opened up again as players fill the empty seats, is the original hand history file overwritten or appended to ?

Thanks

It will be appended to

Hi,

I just registered on your site and downloaded the software. For some reason, the program will not run at all. There's a pop-up information window on the first attempt, but that's it. After closing the window, nothing happens. Nothing happens when trying to run it again either.

I did, however, notice this in the log file:

SERVER: Created named pipe
SERVER: Created named pipe for relay
SERVER FATAL: Error installing screensaver to system.ini

Any ideas?

What version of windows are you running?
08-31-2006 , 03:06 PM
XP MCE 2002 SP2
08-31-2006 , 03:14 PM
Are you running any special protection software that could be interfering with IdleMiner? Specifically Process Guard or Zone Alarm?
08-31-2006 , 03:31 PM
Just Snoop-Free, AVG AV, and Windows Firewall...but nothing popped up asking me to allow or deny.
08-31-2006 , 03:38 PM
where does one find the log file?

It's in the program's directory:

C:\Program Files\idleminer

Great piece of software. Thank you. I particularly think that your rapid response to the suggestions made in this thread has been worthy of praise.

2 questions (one only partly tounge-in-cheek)and 1 suggestion:

Is there any problem with playing one of the tables being mined if, for example, a seat pops open?

When you get out of beta and begin selling the software, will you give the beta-testers a sweetheart deal?

Suggestion

In the "status" section, is it possible to have the program display stats for the table, such as VP$P and/or average pot size? (I suppose I could just buy PokerAce for this)

Well then, in order:

If you are playing a table while IdleMiner is running and it is NOT set in "Manual Operation Mode", it can and probably will close the table you're sitting at.

Yes

This would require interfacing with a PT database, and is beyond the scope of this particular project. The idea of this project is to make a set and forget dataminer, not to make a playing tool. That said, who knows what the future holds.

House, do you think you could e-mail our developer at dev@idleminer.com - he would like to see a copy of your log and correspond directly with you in solving this problem.
