Hi all

First of all sorry about my crappy English.

I have had this idea for some time, how about starting a poker site owned by the users, where we all have the same share and now one will have any financially interest in the site.

You still have to pay rake to make the site go a round and to pay the expenses, witch also will be paid by advertisers one the site.

The big advantage is that you can be 100% sure the cards really is random and that there is no superusers.

I have no idea how much it will cost to start a project like this, but if there was enough share holders this idea is not impossible.

I'm not sure your plan will give you the assurance you desire. Unless you write or review all of the code yourself, you can't be sure your site's is more secure than any other site's. And even then, you can't be sure there is a bug or a backdoor that can could be exploited. Finally, even if you're convinced that your site is secure, how will you convince others of that fact? (Or, put another way, how will you convince others that your assertion that your site is secure is more trustworthy than a competitor's assertion that their site is secure?)

A procedural question.

If every poker player buys 1 share of PartyPoker, which is a public company, doesn't that make it a site of all players? I think so.

That's actually not a bad idea. A non-profit poker room would have significantly smaller rake and possibly extra money for marketing and promotions to attract the fish.
