The shades theme looks really nice too, so much better than the old 2p2. It's nice knowing when someone replies to one of my posts too through email.

I don't think so. I miss this too.

Just add buttons/favorites to the toolbar in your browser that takes your straight to your favorite forums.

I'm surprised more people aren't asking about this. In the ATF forum there's a long thread of questions and this isn't asked once, which I thought was odd as it was a good tool. Fwiw, I asked twice, no replies so I suppose it's a no-go.

Small gripe though cause the new board is absolutely fine overall.

Bookmark each forum index, and make a favorites folder or put them individually on your Bookmarks Toolbar Folder? Then they are right at the top of your browser, regardless of what web page you are viewing.

I have 1 or 2 on my Fav's Toolbar, otherwise I use the Expanded Index Tree on the left side.

I agree that this sucks. Remember that the old content is still out there, you just have to go get it manually.

Let me know which threads you want to restart, and I'll make sure it happens. While I'm rebuilding the FAQ anyway, it'd be nice for those threads to get links in the FAQ, too.

As an alternative, you can subscribe to just the forums that you read using the forum tools button and access them from the user control panel.

Hi.
I´ve got a few questions.

1) How do you change the colour schemes?
2) Why doesn´t the posts I open get marked as "read"? It´s almost impossible to keep track of what posts I´ve been into.
3) In the old version, new posts and posts with a new reply in a forum were grey and vey easy to find. Is there a way to get something like this in this new software? It takes a lot of time to scroll down the forums trying to remember what threads I´ve read and what threads I had no interest in.

I need some info no this, please

There are tons of threads, and answers, in the About The Forums - Forum

What I find a bit annoying is that in strat (I suppose all areas really) I find myself trying to respond to a specific post.

B4, we could just reply and it would add something like responding to _dave_ in the border of your post.

Now, I quote the poster and delete all of his post (so as not to add clutter) and add my comments. Extra step I'm not happy about.

Dave, the old software would reset the new post counts whenever the user viewed a forum. Is there anyway for this script to mimick that behavior? I have the darndest time now determing which threads are new since I last visited a forum (at least on forums where I ignore the majority of threads).

I just came here to ask almost the same question, but you beat me to it

I used to like the way the old forum would automatically mark threads as read in any forum that you had visited when you closed IE down. It meant that all you needed to do was open a forum (Software, Zoo, STTF, etc), skim through and read the updated posts that interested you. Then the next time you opened up IE, you could clearly see all new posts...

Manually marking the forums as read is about the nearest I've found yet.

Any way to get this functionality back? I really miss it...

Juk

I downed them all in the NL full-ring FAQ a couple months ago, if it'll help.

Stop complaining. The (FINALLY) new design is much better in almost all ways. Thats why i decided to sign up. it took to much time reading the forum before in that ugly old design.
