How do I get player notes and color codes to a new system?

I just got a new laptop and I have a huge amount of player notes and color codes on Full Tilt that I'd like to keep on using. I know which file they are stored in (username.dat), but when I copy it from the old system to the new one, they don't appear in the client... how do I do that properly?
Also, is there some way to get player notes from FTP into Pokertracker. I always thought this was somehow possible...

username.xml is your ftp notes file. You probably could have found this answer with a quick search.
