HEM - how to move database?

Hey, I searched a few times but my terms must be off. I am sure this has been answered, but I want to move my database from my desktop pc to my laptop for vacation, and then back again without losing anything. I don't want to bring a clunky external hard drive with me, and I don't plan on playing regularly on the laptop anyway.
Is the easiest way to do this just to install postgresql on both computers, then backup and restore the database to the other computer? This sounds funny to me, there isn't a way that I can do it better? Like by just saving the hand histories and moving those between?

Yes. Backup/Restore is faster than Export/Import, but less reliable.
