Data Mining PokerStars Data Mining PokerStars

Mostly because it took me 6 hours of study on a night I should have been playing poker to get it running. For some reason I feel like that work is cheapened if everyone gets it so easily.

lol

So now it takes you more time to pm it to everyone. Nice logic.

If you want to charge for it, that's different... but you make it sound like you're giving it to people for free if they pm you, which is funny.

It was a hassle for you, might as well go out of your way to make it a hassle for everyone else. lol?

Whatttttaya say dave, you want me to upload it?
it would be very unwise for anyone to download a poker client from anyone other than the official website not suggesting you would do anything pizzaman - but it would be an incredibly dangerous habit for people to become accustomed to.

Best bet is to use system restore to "roll back" to previous versions, if you decided to update Stars without taking a backup (it gives you a pop-up "we will update now, OK?")

See PokerStarsJeff's post in Internet Gambling - it is likely not going to last much longer this era of unpunished datamining against TOS, and they've told pokeroffice to restrict it's abilities.

Did they tell PT/HM that they can add the same function in, that PO has to restrict?
02-16-2008 , 10:47 PM
Ithink they went with the tell PO to restrict it option. So it is gonna take serious effort to datamine more than the orbit you are waiting to post with PO now, and thus PO dataminers will be obvious (and warned/punished)
02-18-2008 , 05:44 AM
Has any PO dataminers gotten banned yet?

I'm sure PO is going to get right on that. Eliminating the only feature they have and PT3/HM doesn't seems like a road to riches.

Does getting on the list of prohibited programs sound like a road to riches to you?

I am trying to buy a 2/4 NL PT database.

Script still works. You just have to open the IHH window first and make it a normal size rather than letting it stay super tiny. Anybody with anyAHK knowledge can do that fairly easily...

Any updates from Pokertracker3 to that issue ?
(importing HHs from observed hands for a table limit)

Pokertracker3 will have a datamining functionality for Pokerstars, like PO has.

Yes, we will be adding this functionality; however, it is not ready yet.

Any updates from Pokertracker3 to datamining functionality for Stars ?

Hi guys,

Nice thread as well as nice community.

I am interested in starting a project to datamine every table ($1/$2 and up) in Pokerstars, as well as other sites, such as FTP. Is there anyone that would like to be involved in this project? I have the resources and capital and IT ability to program whatever would be needed for this project. I plan to allow public access to all this data. Its the only fair way, and with mass information and statistics, it can clear up some myths we tend to have with the Poker Sites and how fair they are dealing cards, etc.

Thanks for listening to me.

Hi
I'm using the AHK script but i've a problem. The script gets the hands but it writes the same hand on the same file, so when i try to import the hands i get only duplicate hands.
Where's the error?

obv virus/trojan imo

can someone confirm?
07-03-2008 , 01:47 PM
Checked on virus total, no viruses found.
07-03-2008 , 01:56 PM
Tested on a virtual machine, it's working good.
07-03-2008 , 06:08 PM
When you guys are doing this are you getting mucked cards too or no?
07-03-2008 , 07:00 PM
I would NEVER trust this application. If you use it, run it in a virtual machine + firewall and block all contact between the program and the interwebs, but still, never never trust it.

I put up a Virtual Machine running Comodo Personal Firewall and Stars to see what this software was doing IP wise.

The only dubious traffic was that the software wants to browse to what looks like porn ad's (not sure, appears to be german or dutch). Otherwise, did not do any other kind of IP traffic, so probably not any kind of trojan embedded. Am guessing the developer gets paid for click-through to the porn sites???

Also did a virus check on the exe and did not find anything.

Probably won't use this software. Am currently using hhSmithey to get Stars data, they are not charging anything at the present. Might wait to see what others think of this SW.

For those interested, the event reported by Comodo was:

Date/Time Application Action Source IP Source Port Destination IP Destination Port
7/3/2008 8:27:59 PM C:\Install\PokerDataminer for Absolute Poker.exe Blocked 192.168.150.130 1087 213.202.242.102 80

Point being, why would anyone use an (even totally legitimate) exe miner when there is the awesome "Absolute Solution" AHK freely available?

Also, lol absolute

For Stars, there is Free SW available too (like in this thread), but you'll likely have to work out how to fix it up yourself since it is considered cheating according to Stars T&C.
