Error: Failed to get data for '~MHz'

This started about a week ago after doing a windows update. I'm running vista on parallels on a macbookpro. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and I removed firewall restrictions but no luck. Thoughts?

Hello Franklin,

Thank you for your email. After reviewing your account, there is no issues on our end.

The problem you are describing below is typical of some type of Internet Security Software on your PC blocking your access to CakePoker. (Examples of such software would be Norton, Spybot, Zone Alarm or McAfee).

Whenever you download the CakePoker application it is always important to ensure that you add the CakePoker application as an exception or “Trusted” application to your Firewall or other Security Software. In most cases you will be prompted to do this by the software itself, however you may be required to manually make the adjustments. I would also ask you to note that when you download an upgrade of the CakePoker application, your Firewall/Security Software may treat the updated CakePoker application as a completely new piece of software, and so you may have to perform the above steps with each software upgrade. Thanks in advance for your patience in this matter.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

James

CakePoker Support.
I tried turning my firewall off and got the same error message. I'm not running any other anti-virus software to my knowledge.

Try doing a system restore to the point right before your Windows Updates. Just click the windows button, all programs, accesories, system tools, and then system restore. Anytime windows updates it automatically sets a restore point beforehand (for **** like this ) and you can do the restore. It will not affect any emails or files added or created, just system settings and program installs. See if that does the trick. If so, theres an update to windows screwing you.

Thanks I tried this. The only restore point was from 5/5 oddly even though the update was like two weeks ago and that's when cake stopped working. I tried it anyway and it didn't fix it. Thoughts?

Honestly it sounds like you have a virus. Usually the trickier virus' take out all the windows restore points instead of dropping the service. I just had a computer with this issue. Maybe the computer help forum could help you eradicate it. The easiest method for me to deal with a virus problem is to just backup your data and reinstall Windows.
