I'm planning on setting myself up to use speech recognition for poker to eliminate RSI-related issues. I've found some great threads/info on these forums (using WSR + Macros and probably e-speaking).
I'm really struggling to find a quality microphone, specifically suited for speech recognition while playing poker. I've seen some headsets/mics get recommended here and there on 2+2, but I have some concerns:
- The recommended headsets for speech recognition don't seem great audio-wise or comfort-wise. I've been using Beats Studio for poker and doesn't look like I'm able to combine that with a headset or mic except for this one:
http://www.modmic.com/, which seems pretty cool, I can attach it to my current headphones with magnets. Again I can't find much info about this product related to speech recognition. Most people seem to use it for gaming, or skyping etc. Also it has the pink 3,5mm jack, I understood usb would be better?
- The gaming headsets like Turtle Beach (for instance:
http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/...orce-px21.aspx) seem pretty comfortable. However all the positive reviews are obviously related to gaming only. I find it hard to find any info on whether these mic's are also suitable for speech recognition. In selection guides on the internet for speech recognition, gaming headsets aren't listed in general, so I guess they're no good for speech recognition?
- Desk mounted microphones are an option I guess, although I really like the idea of being able to not sit at my desk while playing, like the guy I read about playing poker while exercising on his treadmill!
Although not cheap, right now I'm thinking about this wireless mic, recommended by 2+2'er Neurotoxin in his great guide on speach poker:
http://www.knowbrainer.com/NewStore/...&idcategory=16. But the thread is over 3 years old, would this still be the best product right now?
I know quite some 2+2'ers have successfully managed to set up voice powered poker. I'm really hoping to get some info on whether the gaming headsets are suitable for speech recognition, anyone using those? Any further tips/experiences on mics for speech poker would be really appreciated.
