UTG+1 is a regular, posts on this forum, not a maniac, and I assume a winning player! But I can't fathom this move. Also, from observing his past play, I'm entirely sure that he wouldn't be folding to a 3-bet. Any comments?

Poker Stars $15+$1 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Tournament - t75/t150 Blinds - 7 players

MP: t300 M = 1.33
CO: t2435 M = 10.82
BTN: t3625 M = 16.11
SB: t1970 M = 8.76
BB: t1085 M = 4.82
UTG: t1055 M = 4.69
UTG+1: t3030 M = 13.47

Pre Flop: (t225)
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t525
...
UTG+1 shows 6 4 Q Q (HI: a full house, Queens full of Fives)

it's not that wacky imo, depending on how the table is playing, no raise is really that wacky in tourneys when you're just trying to steal the blinds half the time. Don't assume just because people post here they win. If he's raising this and never folding to a 3 bet from anyone then it seems like it would be a pretty big leak to risk your tourney if the button or cutoff come over top for most/all of his chips.

You would assume because your hero here is a good player, respected, winner, whatever - that he won't make these plays, and that is exactly the reason a good player can and does.

It's kind of like Dan Harrington - hes known as a very tight, solid, NLHE player - but the guy knows when to mix it up pretty well and knows that his image allows him to occassionally get away with things that guys like Gus Hansen cannot because people just won't believe loosey gooseys like they will believe tighter, more conservative players.
