We have a lot in common. I am trying to build a solid foundation for my game by using discipline. This means I fold all hands that are not any of the following.

-A2XX
-A3XX
-4 wheel cards
-4 broadway cards
-AAXX

period.

This is what my coach told me to do. So far, it has been about 2 weeks and I see tremendous results already. Once I develop discipline, our next topic will be opening up my game from there.

And I recommend reading the Omaha section in Super System 2. Take notes and read them over many times.

I hope this helps. I feel your pain.

hey thanks mate. Do you play full ring games or 6 max? Also what hands do you complete from the SB i find if there is a lot of limpers I will try to see a flop with most kinds of hands as long as they are not trashy.

LOL quite effective indeed. I usually move down to $5PLO8 or play some $2 sit n gos and pretty much refuse to fold any hand and never fold a draw. It's quite funny actually $10 bucks can entertain u for a good 30 - 60 mins

Quiet the session "cash game" if you recognize that you cannot beat it anymore and leave with the won bucks....
...play Sit'n Go's and push a little bit around .

Be sure if I continued playing after this two hands within a minute, I would not leave the tables with +80, half an hour later probably with -150$

As far as completing from the SB and calling raises in the BB, and even throwing in 2 extra chips from the BB if it's a kill, your still supposed to follow the same rules. This is what my coach told me. It's not that it is not allowable to call when you have odds with more hands then what I listed. It's about a solid foundation I can build upon and not get caught paying for sub-par draws. And most importantly it's about building DISCIPLINE. I know someday, I will be able to open up my game and play more hands, but not yet. Realizing that and folding is building discipline. Sometimes I fold winners, but more often then not, the hands I would have played if not for these discipline guidelines, are losers. This goes for live play (I play 8-16) and internet play (3-6). Try to avoid short handed tables online and play full tables and stick to the hands I previously listed. It has been working great for me both live and online.
