I have my usual agressive image and villian loves flatting my opens.. obv I cant't fold ever but should i try to play for stacks here or try to keep the pot as small as possible. I think villian is bad enough and thinks I'm FOS enough to pay me off with A5 or 5 ten but that's about it... I have the K blocker so KKK slightly less likely. what do you guys think?

Board:
GMANAUM23 (UTG): $6,442
AUSSIEKITTEN (UTG+1): $6,565
DADLEUS (CO): $6,866
BLONDIE61462 (Button): $578
SHOWBIZ KID (SB): $5,115
TAKEMYCHAI (BB): $15,702
CHUDA626 (MP1): $15,226

Dealt to TAKEMYCHAI 5 K Q J

Pre-flop:
CHUDA626 calls $300, (4 folds), SHOWBIZ KID calls $150, TAKEMYCHAI checks

Flop: ($900) 5 5 T (3 Players)
SHOWBIZ KID checks, TAKEMYCHAI checks, CHUDA626 checks

Turn: ($900) K (3 Players)
SHOWBIZ KID checks, TAKEMYCHAI checks, CHUDA626 bets $900, (1 folds), TAKEMYCHAI calls $900

River: ($2,700) 8 (2 Players)
TAKEMYCHAI checks, CHUDA626 bets $2,700, TAKEMYCHAI calls $2,700

You have to raise the turn or river here imo. I think your hand is too strong to timidly check call both streets.

Without meaning any offence my first impression when I read this and then saw how you played the hand was along the lines of I'm not sure this player is as aggressive as they think they are. Of course I don't know you to say you are not so I'll assume that you really are aggressive and just happened to play this one hand passively.

A major reason to cultivate that aggressive image is so that you can stack your opponents when you hit a hand like this whereas a tighter more passive opponent can't get that value. To play aggressive and create that image prior to this hand and then to play so passively when you hit this strong a hand doesn't compute. You're giving up a ton of value and might even be exhibiting a reliable tell.

On each street here (post flop) the main reason not to bet or raise is to delay doing so until the next street, not to avoid doing so during the whole hand because we are scared of 1010xx or (to a lesser extent) KKxx.

Bet flop, turn & river. As played c/r turn or c/c turn and c/r river.

I think I'm pretty agressive, I have posted a lot more hands where I play like an absolute psycho.. Anyone who has played MTT's with me on Cereus can attest I'm usually the laggiest player at the tbl... This spot though I'm playing a pot with the only person who can bust me.. and I thought his range consisted of the nuts or a bluff. and I don't beat the nuts and a bluff doesn't give me any value. Results I flat called and he showed tens full.

I accept that you are aggressive and an intelligent player, I was just posting the first thing I thought and wondering why you weren't in this hand, not trying to be insulting. It seems you played the hand very well in the end, with better results than I would have achieved. From what you say now the reason you had such a good result (relatively) is because of a read that I didn't get from what you posted initially, not because you are usually timid in such situations. If his range truly does consist of the nuts or air then your line is great.

It just goes to show the importance of paying attention to your opponents. In the absence of such reads I still think you should take a more aggressive line because most often the villains range is not quite this polarised, though it sounds like in the absence of such a read you would.

Nothing wrong with this line, standard way to play the underboat.

If you c/r the river make darn sure you know how to fold if he repops you.

I would often throw out a half pot bet on the flop here, then c/c c/c . You're very unlikely to get raised on the flop.

I clicked call thinking I trapped him into bluffing twice... so I didn't have a perfect read lol.. Its just that as long as I have a workable stack going broke without the nuts seems silly in an unraised pot
