I have ran well so far this month but wow has the action been terrible. Seems hardly any 30+ games running and every 15 and 30 has 5 or 6 regs.

I got the impression that games were softer than they used to be 3+ month ago. But maybe i'm underestimating "new regulars" and am blinded by my recent godrun in 30's. Traffic was fine for me, played around 60 games / hour ($7-$30) last 2 weeks.

Is it time to start exploring other forms of plo8? I know I am. Hypers just aren't that fulfilling for me these days and I have played about a tenth of the volume some of you guys have. Suppose if you just keep watching the $ signs its ok.

Haha. Really. Well. I certainly have opinions on Waltiph!! Care to lose an all in recently.

Most days I still enjoy playing them although some days I'm just forcing myself to play. On days when I'm not feeling it I often just find something to listen to and just auto pilot it. As far as the future goes for me I probably wont be playing solely hypers for much longer. Next year my approach will be more similar to last year where I played more of a mix of everything.

Not all regs are winning regs tho.

I didn't talk about competence at all. Still, I prefer to have at least 1 or 2 unknowns at my table who will either ship any 4 or will be way to tight with high blinds... there is definitely some value in most 15s lineups, but sometimes it's not big enough for me to bother and invest time...

I see. I, on the other hand prefer not-very-good regs to unknows (with the exception of the bubble). Unknowns are too unpredictable for me.

if i want to have the correct ev. on my hm1 to be shown up, what settings do i have to put in?

I`m pretty sure it doesn't show the ev correctly atm, because i get different results when i put in any speed or super turbo.

weird, does hm1 not track the 7$ ones as hyper turbos?

I think the ev is more or less useless for the hypers, have skipped it. Have found the "Chips Won" graph interesting though, it doesn't totally correlate with the money won. When I was breaking even, and even losing moneywise for hundreds of tournaments, the Chips Won went somewhat steadily upwards, it was relieving in some way.

Probably the Chips Won graph has smaller variance, it notices when you win hands even if it happens not to pay out in that tournament. But it tells you there may be something you are doing right. ICM is something that comes to mind, how to play right on average at the right spots? Personally I think the split pot nature and the rapidly increasing blinds decrease the value of ICM and increases the value of equity thinking. But there certainly are spots where trying to get at least second place is worth trying. For example if you are second in chips and the third remaining player has very few chips.
