Or did it all dry up when the WSOP left town? I'm headed in for a few days of work, but I'll have some down time in the evenings and would like to find out from some locals what the games are like. Post it here or drop me a PM...
how good/bad have these games been? I mean just really ridicoulos super lose and braindead donkeys who just dont know anything about the game and pretty much just donate theit money? Or have there been at least some (semi)competent people? Im talking about the 4/8 and 8/16 games not about the 30/60 one.
You`ll always find those games at the Orleans. Mostly locals play those games and a couple of them are actually pretty skilled, but it`s a nitfest first and foremost with everyone waiting to feast on the tourists.
I live in Vegas and O8 is my game. Here's my observations.
4-8 at Red Rock when it runs is the easiest game in town. Sometimes it won't go sometimes there are 2 tables. Hit or miss.
Wynn has the 10-20 with half kill. Lots of daily regulars but when there are a lot of tourists playing at Wynn, There may be 2 games with big pots. The game is more of a daytime game, breaking down early when there is low occupancy on the strip.
My favorite game is the 8-16 with half kill at Orleans. Runs almost around the clock. Many skilled players but you just need to know who to look out for. Lots of bad players too. I am somewhat new to the game and I have won 8 of my first 10 sessions there and I plan on playing there much more. Some nites they will get 2 full games for hours. The second game is always a must move to the main game which is always on the same table. The omaha jackpot is the second highest it has ever been, and they have a 3 dollar max rake (plus one for jackpot) and decent comps. Hope to see you there.
The Bellagio 30-60 game has a 1/3 kill and imo, the locals in this game are probably
comparable to winning 3-6 online players. Then add the tourists into equation, and
this game is very good. A 3 bet in this game usually means "AAxx".
If you can play the mixed games, the Omaha8 play in the 50-100 bellagio mix
game is really atrocious. Most of the players become extra active (indicating
they like the particular game) during the draw and stud portions.
Played the Wynn 10-20 to 20-40, a few yrs back, and I found these games to
be much more aggressive (but in a gambling way) then Bellagio. So be ready for
a ride.
