OK so I have a pretty strong drawing hand in the small blind but I'm not a fan of raising out of the small blind that often so I decide to just call. I know my hand is probably the best vs the limper and the big blind. Just sat down at the table.
I checked the flop for information. I know some players feel a bit awkward about this whole concept but I am a fan of it and it definately works for me. I wanted to find out whether my low is good. To bet here would be foolish in my opinion. Without any high for backup and not the nut low I can't value town this until I am pretty sure my low is good.
On the turn, I got what I wanted. All players checked so my low is good. Most if not all players with the nut low bet the flop for value to increase their half-pot and give themselves a chance to pick up the pot uncontested. Nobody bet so I can safely assume its a good time to bet and hopefully start jamming. I also thought I could misrepresent my hand as a full house and chop up the other two if they both had high hands with or without worse lows. With the limper now just calling it seems like he made a high hand he isn't sure of anymore or has a bad low or maybe a draw. I am confident the BB has a full house.
On the river the beautiful deuce pops and now I am even more confidentmy low is good, its the nut low! So I jam it up where possible.
Thoughts? Would you play this any differently? Things you like, things you don't?
