I just started playing on Full Tilt. I was wondering how people use the color coding scheme. Do you try to show passive/aggressive, loose/tight, good/bad?

Also, is there any way to update player notes when you are not sitting at the table?

usually just just two colors one for reg/good and other for fish

I usually use four colors - green for fish, yellow for passive/tight players, red for ultra-aggressive players and purple for good regs or others to avoid.

I use every color and because I play a lot there, every color has a useful denotation for me. There are different types of difficult opponents to play: good LAGs, "good" NITs, good TAGs. Then there are different types of poor players: tighter LPs, loose LPs, Maniacs, LAGs.

green = donk
red = good lag
orange = nit only reraises nuts

I'll add this for OP who might find it useful: the only real huge use I have of the color coding in FTP is when I'm seeking out which tables to play or add my name to the list for. When I see a table full of LAG and TAG colors, I just avoid it. When I see a table with maniacs and LPs and general morons, that is where I will sit/add my name. It is very telling that the tables with the longest waiting list generally are full of players that via my color scheme are the biggest donators.

During actual hands I don't rely on color coding - I use my notes and what I can remember about the villain, not just generalizations of their abilities and style of play.

I can't think of a better description of myself than "tighter LP".

I'll be damned if I give out my screen name on a forum!

I'm curious, but not THAT curious.

from 'ok' to good=yellow to red (only about 10 reds I know)
Blue=crazy (always play blues. only about 10 as well)
Green=target/loser
Purple=nit (no thanks)
I'll tell anyone that asks what I have them as.

Don't you find nits to be profitable? Do you play FR or 6-max? I know the 6-max nits are just a great bunch of slow, steady donators - grinding out FPP or RB or bonuses or something and hoping to make some money off the LP's and maniacs I guess.

I find them to be profitable and much easier to play than others, yet it's rare to get their whole stack. If they happen to be that nitty type that stacks off, I would classify them as 'green'.

When I used to use PTO, there were a few nits that made a little bit of money (~2-5bb/100) but not enough to live on imo. 6 max nits def. lose more money than FR but it mostly just depends on who's playing at the table.
