I have not recieved such email although I rarely play cash games but is it possible then to calculate which player(s) were cheaters?

We combine all player names from cheated players database then substract( hope this is right word) all players from not cheated players databases and then the names which are left and are on all cheated players databases are most likely cheaters?

Yeah I know. I don't agree that it's right but I wanted to get a sense on how these things actually work. I don't think it put much of a dent in anyones play stack

uhm didn't full tilt just ban everyone that had a link to a specific bot forum, i'd be careful about what sites like that I visited.. and I sure wouldn't be "trying it out" at play money if i had any $ on a site or had any interest in continued play there

I wouldn't want that thing or the like on my computer. Say a site does detect it, good luck getting money back saying it was only for play monies. They'd probably assume you were lying and had been botting real money or were preparing to.

There is a thread by someone climing he got banned for botting at a site other than the one he got banned from. He got zero support, and once you admited botting of any kind neither would you I suspect (natural response is yeah riight), other than from people who know you to be honest in real life. I think downloading it to check it out is naive, unless you don't care about being banned.

Actually quite alarmed now. I only have few hundred on the site but much more on others. This could end up being a case of "curiosity killed the cat"

I musta got boned hard - I got more than $25 refunded from the bot_scammer_devil_scums! In other news, I've never worried about bots and if they are in the games I play, they really suck! Online poker is a self-regulating business. I've been playing for 6 years now and I've never felt that I was ever really cheated badly - occassionally in the 6-max LO8 games I felt like a couple of players might be colluding and cheating, but only a few times and I never felt like I had to stick around and take the abuse. BOTs are bad for business and poker sites will shut them down quickly if they are able to catch them. Any programmer with the skills in both math & programming to develop and implement a bot that is good enough to make a solid win at any substantial stakes (PL/NL50+) has probably found that his talents will pay more dividends with a legit job and wouldn't be wasting his/her time. It is pure laugh_stock to worry about BOTs in small-mid stakes O8 games.

If anyone's a bot at small stakes O8 it's A1141 . May as well be a bot with the mechanical regularity of his plays

What is the timeframe for the hands you got refunds on ... I play a LOT of rush PLO8 on Lickety Split and I have not gotten any refund and have gotten no refund

Yes, A1141's play is quite mechanical at times, but if you ever ask him a question in the chat box he responds pretty promptly. I realize you were most likely joking when you made this accusation against A1141, but as a reg myself, I would be intolerant of anyone accusing me of botting simply b/c I put in an insane volume. Obviously, just use the fact that he's on every table and playing way too many hands against him.

I have reported some similar strange players when I was playing limit O8 $5 and $10 on ps.com : ultra aggro, was 3-betting and 4-betting me 100% of the time regardless of position. Checking the river with a wheel and baby flush always amazed me. They found nothing particular.

Since I only play on cereus now (I'm in France so no more limitO8 for me except cereus and merge) I found exactly the same patterns but I have adapted : I extract most of my value on turn and river knowing they will call me light to chase either a low a or high I have locked 75% both ways most of the time.

I even had an opponent last week who was 4 tabling $5.25 limit o8 hu, had a game going on and two others with different opponents but was suspicious since all her actions took 3/4 of allowed time on any street. I realized it was the same for her other 3 games. That person asked me to play quicker (I had a laugh) I simply did put on the gas pedal with premiums and before putting her all in with her remaining 3 big bets I asked 'to better tweak her bot' since it could only beat huge fishes.
