Hi all,

100/200 limit o8, 9-handed with the button sitting out, we open AT92 with t-high suit utg and bb defends. He’s a good pro. $600 eff.

Flop: ($450): 22Qr. He checks we bet $100 he calls.

Turn ($650): K bringing bdfd we don’t have. He checks we bet $200 he check raises to $400. We have about that behind, maybe a little more.

Thanks,
DT

Ok I called he had QQ86. No way to get away from this one I guess even though my hand is pretty face up when I double barrel.

You're playing poker hands with only 3 big bets in front of you?

Umm...I'm still relatively new to the game, at a skill disadvantage...so yeah, I'm buying in short.

Even in a limit game it's a massive advantage to be short.

I know theoretically it is, all other things being equal, but in practice I think if you're a favorite in the game you're usually better off with more money. I've just never heard of anyone playing this short unless they were really stuck and didn't want to rebuy.

Because each additional dollar you put in the pot should have a positive expectation.

Arrogant, but might be fair if you are a lot better than the opposition. Still, that needs to beat the mathematical value you gain for the short stack.

that should be an easy fold in that game. on a turn check raise means 99% of the time they have it.

Villain is going to check fold worse trips?

This. Folding is atrocious.

Villain's line is relatively credible but with this game's bad structure Hero is expected to stack off here

Dumbo I don't think short-buying is a good strategy if you are trying to improve.

Short-buying can also just feel bad for several different reasons, including that you will get stacked a lot.

Not being able to put in multiple bets on turn and river would drive me crazy.
