Maybe because of this.
Quote:
Evidence of al-Qaeda's involvement was inconclusive for months after the attack. The staff of the 9/11 Commission found that al-Qaeda's direction of the bombing was under investigation but "increasingly clear" on 11 November 2000. It was an "unproven assumption" in late November. By 21 December the CIA had made a "preliminary judgment" that "al Qaeda appeared to have supported the attack," with no "definitive conclusion."[22]

Accounts thereafter are varied and somewhat contradictory.

Then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice told the Commission that when the administration took office on 20 January 2001, "We knew that there was speculation that the 2000 Cole attack was al Qaeda... We received, I think, on 25 January the same assessment [of al-Qaeda responsibility]. It was preliminary. It was not clear."

Newsweek reported that on the following day, "six days after Bush took office," the FBI "believed they had clear evidence tying the bombers to Al Qaeda."[23] The Washington Post reported that, on 9 February, Vice President Dick Cheney was briefed on bin Laden's responsibility "without hedge."[24]
And at least Bush splattered Iraq because of Saddam's part in 9/11.

words words words words words

Yemeni officials/government were clearly complicit in assisting the attack and derailing/delaying/hampering the initial investigation.

You're right. Let's give them and Clinton a free pass.

And at least engineroom paint is green on ships.
(about as relevant as your "and at least..")

Also, wikipedia as a source to hwat was known or not known doesn't work for me. Clinton simply didn't want to know. He never wanted to know. Those working in the field would often know things but be told they did't know them becaue people farther up the chain didn't want to know or do anything that might be nasty or contreversial.

Yea! I am sure glad Bush wasn't a p**** and decided to level Afghanistan and Iraq. That showed Al Qaida not to mess with American! F*** Yea! Coming again to save the motherf****ing day.

Now only if this president had the balls do level more countries terrorism would be finished and we can go back to the world loving us.

Sweet strawman rant!

As a counter, we should probably hide in our closet and hope the bad men go away. What ever happens don't offend those who hate you.

Good to know that some guy playing poker on the interwebs in his undies was on top of the situation better than the top people in the intelligence community were. Can't wait until you write a book detailing who knew what when. I'll be sure to pre-order it. When's the book tour start? I'd love to get my copy autographed.

Looks like we have a direct link to the intelligence community. I for one cannot wait to hear the detailed insights of a man on the inside.

Do you have a camera in my house? How did you know I was in my "undies"?

Oh and BTW, I was in The military then and doing CT work. So there is some chance of some possibility that I might, perhaps maybe knew something about what I was talking about.

Maybe if back then, instead of doing that silly stuff, I was playing hockey or perhaps starring on your 8th grade JV basketball team, I'd know more?

LOL. I doubt either side of the conventional ailse would be too happy to know what I know or saw. It wouldn't fit the neat little packages of BS for either Obamites or neocons. If anything it would feed the ACists a hearty meal.

I wouldn't know. I never saw him anywhere remotely dangerous.

I would point out that this isn't the military. While " Have you seen combat?" might be a sign of competency or disdain for those who haven't seen combat, it matters absolutely nothing outside of the military. Unless you want to show me how to flank a position then by all means I'll listen to what you say.

But age isn't an excuse to ignore people either.
