And on that day, it's still probably pretty easy to think that the gun in the hand of the guy you'd shoot with the gun you wish you had is bad.

I am personally opposed to guns- I would not forbid them.

Though I might be forced to buy one if everyone has one. That is the dillema.
What dillema? Explain this plz.

-Total Economic Collapse
-Currency collapse
-Fascist coup
-Massive riots
In the bolded cases my first thoughts would not be that I need a gun.

Apart from that: What if nobody had a gun? What if many had tanks or other armored vehicles?

Well the argument is that if I do not wish to own a gun I must not, but I should not prevent others to own a gun.
I actually agree with it.
But if most of the people have acquired guns it is very hard for me to stay away from them, because nobody likes to be the weak and defenseless.

Well, I would think that as long as you don't advertise that you're gun-free you should be fine.

Yeah, but whether your next door neighbor has a gun or not shouldn't change how likely it is you get home invaded.

Edit: If anything, you're safer as a herd protection kind of thing.

but what if I get robbed by people with guns

Isn't that a concern whether you have a gun or not?

OIC, you're worried about your neighbor robbing you.

What happens in no-gun land if you get robbed by people with knives or clubs?

The cool thing about guns is a little lady is ~50/50 against a big mean guy in a gunfight. You're from Europe. Notice how roving bands of brigands disappeared after the advent of the gun?

With the city's gun ban certain to be overturned, Mayor Richard Daley on Thursday introduced what city officials say is the strictest handgun ordinance in the United States.
Does Chicago have any reason to think that SCOTUS might vote differently next time?
