How old does that make me? I'll let you work that out.
Finally, some common ground.

The first big concert I went to was Zeppelin in 1979. I was young.

1972 was the year before their huge US tour that the song remains the same was taken from. I didn't know they toured in that year.

Calibration: My fave Zep songs are Ramble On, Immigrant Song, No Quarter. Stairway to Heaven would be on that list, but, well... you know.
Over The Hills And Far Away
The Ocean

And a lot of the stuff on Physical Graffiti eg The Rover, Sick Again and many more.
Also, don't neglect Presence but do neglect In Through The Out Door.

They were my favourite band by miles from 13-16 and I've listened to all their songs hundreds of times probably so haven't for a long time, but really....what a band (and slated by almost all the critics at the time).

Trivia. One of my oldest mates' sister went out with Page in the 70s and he did a line of coke with Page off the bonnet of his Bentley at the gig for Ronnie Lane.

I see people ask this, but never a suggestion of an answer.

So, how many people died?

You'll need to cite a source about anyone dying because of Manning's actions, the news last night didn't seem to think anyone had. Trump has destroyed the respectability of the Office of the President of the United States of America. That's pretty awful and he hasn't even been sworn in yet.

No one has mentioned When the Levee Breaks?

I think we're assuming that Chris is familiar with I to IV, and that song isn't really unappreciated.

Trump literally called for the execution of five innocent young men.

Yep, they sure did.

Their live album "How the West was Won" was recorded in 1972. Great live album, miles better than "Song remains the same" imo.

Rome is burning and I flip open this thread to see an in depth discussion of classic rock. Man, this Trump guy is good.

The US literally dropped 26,000 bombs in 2016 and is responsible for who knows how many civilian deaths.

President-elect Donald Trump’s newest White House adviser runs a real-estate company that’s being sued by black patrons who accuse it of racial discrimination and hiring white men to physically attack and eject them.

On Wednesday, Trump tapped Reed Cordish as assistant to the president for intergovernmental and technology initiatives.

[...]

Yet Christina Martinez, a former floor manager at the Cordish-owned Tengo club, testified that “Reed Cordish’s code words for blacks was ‘urbans’ or ‘Canadians.’” Martinez added other employees were encouraged to use code words to single out black customers for exclusion.
Jake Miller, the vice president of the Cordish Companies’ entertainment group, ECI, “did not want any African-Americans” in the club either, according to Martinez.
Martinez said she even heard Miller pick up a DJ’s microphone at the club and demand, “Get that ****ing n**ger music off here.”
Man, these guys really need to get their code words straight; they're all over the place here.

Bruce had one good album...

(not that this counts as classic rock, but)

How can you dance when the world is burning?

So what, apples to oranges. Even so, each of those bombs was dropped in accordance with our foreign policy and the support of the government; IE they were legal. Trump wanted to execute 5 black guys because "they were guilty of something" just not what they were charged for; IE he wanted to murder them.

Does this tweet imply he will be spending the winter at Mar-A-Lago instead of the White House?

A nice little litmus test of the EPA, corruption, and Trump is forthcoming, with the new emissions scandal at Fiat Chrysler. This looks like the perfect opportunity for Chrysler to agree to some additional investment in the US in order for the EPA to drop/reduce its claim against Chrysler.

It's also kind of fun to know that some day letters like these will be joined by thick Sharpie on a legal pad scribbling.
