Isn't some version of this unfortunately totally standard, like you make a big donation to the party at a fundraiser and you get to sit at the President's or Candidate's table? And isn't it why we should have elected Bernie Sanders?

It would be awesome if the electors picked Pence and Congress confirmed and Pence accepted and told Trump to get bent.

I mean, it would long-term suck just about as bad for America/the world, but it would be a wonderful moment, at least.

hillary's deleted emails could have revealed dangerous conflicts of interest and pay-for-play like this. we're lucky we dodged that bullet

tbh I don't think most of them would be all that surprised. Deep down, they know they're full of ****.

It's not about His teachings at all. About 1990 a friend who was a BBC documentary producer accompanied Vice-President Quayle and his family to his regular church. She was a bit taken aback. The pastor was more like some motivational speaker, he drew zappy diagrams on a whiteboard as he spoke, and his sermon was devoted to the principle that 'good works are evil.'

My friend's a fairly lapsed Catholic and she hadn't heard that one before, but it's a tenet of 'dispensationalism', which is common in American churches. Our Lord's teachings do not apply in the current 'dispensation' (the 'age of grace' or 'age of the church', lasting from the Crucifixion to the Second Coming). They will only apply after the Tribulation and the Second Coming, when Our Lord returns to reign in glory (well, actually in Jerusalem, which is a bit of a dump, but there you are) for a thousand years till the Last Judgement.

Until then, it is evil to follow Our Lord's teachings and all supposed 'good works' are motivated solely by vanity. The only good things are wealth and self-advancement. Or, as another friend who's a comedian once sent it up in a radio show, 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was, "Go for it!" '

The GOP's official biography of President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Treasury secretary appears to omit an important detail: His 17 years at Goldman Sachs.

The bio, posted on the GOP website, boasts of Steven Mnuchin’s “decades of experience with financial and monetary matters,” but does not specifically list Goldman Sachs among his past employers.

The discrepancy was first noted by Business Insider.

And the crazy oppo will probably just be ignored for most of them and only the most over the top ridiculous ones (like Flynn maybe?) will be shut down.

Not defending Ivanka's Coffee Talk here, but your "But the Clinton Foundation" comment kind of exposes your infantile views. You understand that Qatar, where homosexualiy results in imprisonment or worse, gave millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation, right?

Turns out it's not such a big deal after all.

I agree that this is very offensive. Of course we're all pretty hardened to "nazi" and his little brother "racist" the way you guys throw em' around. In light of that I give this a mere 3/10 on the fainting couch scale.
Wow who could've seen this coming.

Like, it's always enormous double standards. Apparently how liberals talk about racists makes non-racists hate blacks(??? or something? Maybe they still aren't racist, but they vote for the candidate racists like out of solidarity)...

But do you see how conservatives talk about liberals? About blacks? About gays? About Muslims?

When it comes time to figure out why black people voted for Obama conservatives never seem to mention the 40 ****ing years of racist rhetoric from the GOP.

Danno my fellow traveler on the road to social justice this seems like an insane non-sequitor.

Also you seem to have been slacking on correcting the numerous and emboldened conservatives in this forum who we both know that you definitely disagree with about VASTLY more important issues than tangential conflicts of interest. Right? Maybe you just missed those posts my dude let me know if you need me to point you in the right direction.

The way he phrased this is unusually telling, normally they don't put it so explicitly.

"Pretty hardened". As in, they get called racist enough they don't care. They think people telling them things are racist is a PERSONAL ATTACK designed to hurt their feelings, and they are letting us know it no longer works.

Instead of, you know, a ****ing statement of fact.

So how does the US System work? Can the US Congress disempower a sitting president? And if yes, how bad would Trump have to **** up for it to happen?

Sorry FlyWf, I kind of glaze over your drivel after your flip-flops between calls for locking up Clinton for losing the election and defending her as a great politician and great candidate. Kind of hard to take you seriously Maybe re-read your posts just after the election and take them to heart?

I know that "But the Clinton Foundation!!!" facetious ignorant posts are right up your alley so you had to chomp at the bit one that I responded to that nonsense, but frankly your uninformed poorly educated and angry white hatemonger opinion means very little to me. Best of luck in 2017 though buddy,

Wait, who does this 60K go to? Does it go directly into Ivanka's pocket? Because Holy **** that is incredibly bad if so.

The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy, but those were the rules when I ran against #CrookedHillary. 38 states--very uphill!

Interesting in light of the above that I was banned within minutes for a single post that was deemed "trolling."
