Also, I've worked for over 7 years in an environment that is incredibly diverse. Because of this, many of my closest friends are minorities and foreigners. And yes, I talk outside of work with them, have them over for dinner, etc.

Man, these examples let people like Geaux off the hook too easy. That **** isn't nearly as damaging as the type of stuff that he has exhibited in this thread. The nasty racism that we should be focusing on is the **** that Fly is so good at sussing out. When people don't want to give the black man the benefit of the doubt and constantly jump at any kind of story (regardless of how credible) that may justify the killing of a young black man like Mike Brown and "reserve judgement till all the facts are in" that is the type of racism that helps perpetuate some of the worst oppression going on in our society.

You say that like I made a judgement against Brown. From the beginning I've said 1. I don't know what the hell happened and 2. The cop needs to stand trial for his actions. I'm not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt. 3. FlyWf calls everyone he disagrees with a racist.

If you don't have any idea what happened why would the cop have to stand trial? Why would charges have to be brought if we just can't know what really took place? Didn't you say you'd be out protesting if the grand jury didn't indict? That seems like an odd jump from 'we don't know what happened'.

I don't know what's so hard to figure out.

I think there's almost certainly enough evidence to go to trial. I want to see a trial. I want both sides of the story to come out. I want all the evidence examined by a jury of his peers.

But for now, I haven't seen all the evidence & testimony, so I have no idea if he's guilty. But I promise I'll let you know exactly what I think when everything comes out.
